    Annealing brass question

    I bought some 650 degree paint from Brownell's. Mainly I wanted to make sure that the heat was not traveling all the way to the case head. I do them one at a time by hand.

    I have used 2-stage triggers for a long time, so am used to them. The trigger on my AI-AE is excellent, very crisp break, no creep. It arrived set to 3-1/2# and I adjusted it down to 2-1/2#. No complaints!

    I just bought a AI AE MK3 .308 24" no-brake 1-12 folder. I shoot Sierra 175s (44.3 Varget, 2670 fps) and it works like a champ. Sub-MOA groups at 300 no problem. Shot a 1000 yard F-T/R match last weekend and even got a few past the 9-ring! This rifle far exceeds my expectations, which is unusual...

    Range Report A bit confused - real world drop compared to JBM

    This is probably not the op's issue, but be aware. I have been shooting 1000 yds a little, and my elevation is way off from JBM calculations. Is just dawned on me that since my scope is metric, I should have my parallax set to 914 (meters) instead of 1000 (yds).

    Mixing powders from different lots

    I have mixed different lots of Varget together without any resulting drama. I don't see how mixing two lots of the same powder together could cause any trouble. With modern manufacturing methods, I'd be surprised if there was 1% difference between different lots of Varget.

    AIAE trigger adjustment

    My AE Mk3 came with a 3-1/2# trigger. I simply backed off the front screw 2 turns which made it 2-1/2#. Pretty simple.

    AICS .308 5 Round SA Mags Available at Midway

    But limit is 2. I got the mags before I got my rifle. Euro Optic delivered on the 10-round mags very quickly, too.
