The Nikon scope mentioned just above works well on the FV-SR in Tacticool I put together for my wife. Dropped a crow out of a tree @ 93 yards last year with CCI SS HP through AAC Aviator: KaClick--WHOP!
I'm waiting for a .260 CTR. Want to keep it light for hunting so planning to stick w factory stock dipped Kryptek, aluminum rings and Mk4 3.5-10x40. Can't bear the wait!
Anyone know whether rail on new CTR is 0 or 20 MOA? Can't find online; rather have root canal than call Beretta. Also need recommendation on lowest and lightest rings for Leupold Mk4 w 40mm obj. Or VX3 w 50mm.
Waiting impatiently for my . 260, which is going to be mostly a hunting rifle, and...
ptaylor, those are outstanding ranch/truck guns!
I've thought of SBRing a TC Contender frame and threading pistol barrels in .22LR, .223, 6.8 SPC, and .357 and .44 Magnums for strictly subsonic usage.
Get both! I say this because I've had my LTR .308 since '06 and it's rarely shot more than .5s; last two 3-shot groups were .323 Ctc w 165 Fed 165 TBTs and .349 w 150 Fed PowerShoks. LGS promised I'd have 1st Tikka CTR .260 in Mid-South soon.
Can't hardly wait! Pondering a Silencerco Harvester...

Note twist on .223 and .308 versions. Wife has VG1 Youth .223 in the slower twist and it's a tack driver.
While the bbl is being threaded have 'smith punch it to AI if you go with .223 or .243. Make a...
SS, you're the Witch Doctor of LR handgunnery! For y'all who don't know him I've seen him topple prairie dogs at such distances w his Mark II/IIIs and Chargers.
This caught my eye tonight...
Was thinking T3 Lite SS 7mm-08, trim to 19 in., press fit collar thick enough to thread, then I saw this as new option for 2014, with more features and can-ready and under 8lbs. Sans scope AND in .260!:
Tikka T3 CTR
I watched a video and read the regs. Looks like fun, sorta 3-gun style w .22s. A decent red dot looks like it'd be fine on any of the targets I saw. Or just drop a Bushnell Banner 1-4x with the Circle Dot reticle on it for about $75. If ya wanna use up more of the $300 you could get one of the...
Do a search for the Quiet Brake Shield from Simplistic Shooting Solutions. Kinda like a Noveske Krink but screws onto AAC or YHM brakes. Adds 5 oz. though. Have not used one; ran across write up trying to figure out how to jazz up my bone stock LTR.
Set the scope on 4x and run that bolt fast. Consider a bayonet or ballbat inside 5 meters. :D
Seriously, go to YouTube and look for Sauer 202 hunter's video.
