    Progressive Relaoding

Re: Progressive Relaoding I had a LNL for around a year but it just didn’t make me happy enough to keep it around. I use bullet and case fed 650’s for my pistol and bullet and case fed 1050 for rifle. 100 rounds takes 3 min at a comfortable pace.

458 SOCOM Load in a RRA Carbine

Re: 458 SOCOM Load in a RRA Carbine What is the velocity of that load? Using Remington 405g sp’s 34.5g of H110 runs 1689 fps and will do clover leafs at 100 meters (start low and work up on this one). 14.3g of HS-6 gives 1006 fps and silly quite using a suppressor.

    Cure for Glock belly?

Re: Cure for Glock belly? I roll size my pistol brass. No bulge and it irons out the extractor grove also. I automated my machine so it could roll size while I am loading.

    Annealing

Re: Annealing It’s a very fine balance that is why it is best done by machine. Look at it this way there are not a lot of people making rifles or brass by hand these days. Look at the rifle smith thread where the guy builds a Damascus double in the smithing forum, even with all of it’s...

    Annealing

Re: Annealing If you read the link above you'll know that any "glow" is too far. You don't even want the flame to turn orange, like in this video.

    Annealing

Re: Annealing Also note there is not a need to quench so you can go straight to loading instead of having to wait for them to dry.

    Annealing

Re: Annealing The above is a good read if you haven't read it yet. The answer to your question is more heat for a shorter duration like in the video below.

What reload equipment for accuracy and volume ?

Re: What reload equipment for accuracy and volume ? I don’t use a progressive for bench rest ammo but I make ammunition that will shoot inside 1” at 100 all day (if you sort for head stamp). Dillon 650 with two deprime dies and trimmer and a 1050 with bullet feeder. As for volume, click...

    Annealing method discussion

Re: Annealing method discussion I look for three factors now that I have done tens of thousands of cases: Keep the flame color blue, if it turns orange you are going too far. Keep the base of the case cool to the touch, this requires a lot of heat but for a short duration on the neck. Look...
