    Tripod and saddle

    You could get a6-8" piece of 1/4x2" aluminum flat stock and bend the ends up. Drill the center and tap it for the quick connect camera base. Or use half of a 4" PVC pipe. Get a threaded T-nut at Lowe's, drill a hole for the t-nut and epoxy it in. I used isomat to pad it.

    Re: Decent Hearing Protection I have Peltor ComTacs I wear occasionally. I also use the Surefire's, which I recently used for explosive breaching. They worked fine for that level of sound and I can pull the plug to carry a normal conversation.

    Typically when Cerkoting a barrled action it is blasted with 120 grit aluminum oxide. What about scopes that are to be Cerkoted? A light sand and degrease or just degrease the existing finish and coat?
