    6.5?'s

If u have a standard long action not getting any use it will make a great parent action for a 6.545 swede or 6.5odd6, they will both give you slightly more velocity say 100 to 150fps more than a 6.5 creed or 260 with comparable barrel length. It might be a fad or it might be the real deal but...

6.5 creedmoor vs 260 rem vs 6.5/06 what to do!

6.5 creed Vs 260 decision is all about cheap factory ammo and better design for a semi auto (creed) versus a little more case capacity, more factory offerings but higher prices (260). One thing to consider was a few months back only hornady made loads for the Creedmoor, now winchester has a 140...

    6.5 Grendel v .300 Blackout

Everyone has made valid points, I luv my grendel and the deer and hogs don't notice it's only a 16 inch barrel. But for lr what if u compared the 2 with the 123 grain .5 bc grendel Vs the 155 Palma bullet .47 ish in the 300aac, in the same barrel length? The bc's are pretty close and I would...

Hunting & Fishing One eye open or two?

Two eyes open is best for hunting if it don't detract from your accuracy cause you get a much better view of your quarry if it runs after the shot. That fleeting glance on a non vital hit animal can save you hours of searching for a wounded animal and can also facilitate faster follow up shots...

Thanks alot belly. I have wanted one to save weight for a while, and all I need is a way to attach a bipod and I am gig and save a half pound!

    Home build resale value

I have never seen parts or prices this low. New Colts for way under 1k, $600 starter ar's for sale online and in lgs. Parts are super cheap, lots of smaller ar companies must have overstocked during the last panic. You can find lowers for $50! It will be a while for the next panic imo because...

what bullet weight to use in Creedmore for 1000yds?

Has anyone tried the 130 grain jlk / swamp works bullets? On their website they say there 130 grain bullet is the same as the 140 just with less weight. I would think that would translate to the same bc and the lower weight would mean u could push them faster...just curious if anyone has gotten...

Just curious...whats your BATTLE READY Precision AR (556) weigh?

Hunting & Fishing Smoking a whole hog recipes

Looking good! I got a question for Yall that brine. Brine is a marinade right with salt correct? I've heard from many people one of the keys to cooking wild pigs because they are usually very lean, is to use very little salt because salt will dry it out. So I read above people love brine...

Hunting & Fishing Smoking a whole hog recipes

I like Cajun seasoning and brown sugar for a simple rub. Even slow smoking if it's a lean wild pig you may want to wrap them with some fruit or some liquid or cover with bacon, for the first few hours of cooking so it doesn't come out to dry. If u don't wrap it just check it every hour and...

First Build, 22" 6.5 Creedmoor. Thoughts?

In most cases it's 30 fps per inch. If the main goal of the build is long range why not start at 26 or 28 inches? You can always cut it down but you can't add inches later.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock 21 -20 conversion

If lonewolf doesn't make or have it for a glock it probably isn't possible or doesn't exist. They make and sell tons of drop in caliber change barrels for glocks....gl

300 WM 1:8 or 9 twist, has anyone tried this?

Like everything twist rates are a compromise. I didn't read where litz says that higher twist rates lower accuracy but if you read his post about the new accubond lr bullets in the ballistics section of this forum u will see that higher twist rates can increase the bc performance of bullets...

Going to Get a JP AR-10. What Caliber?

6.5 creedmore following is growing. Winchester is making a 140 grain match load for 25 bucks a box. Would figure u will be able to buy win brass in a few months or buy the win ammo and keep the brass

    Hunting & Fishing porcine butchery

I have been hunting wild boars and butchering them here in TX for 2 decades and I can tell u how I like to do it. Tools: decent fixed blade hunting knife, sawszall or hand saw. 500 lbs rated animal hanger, rope and some pulleys if they r real heavy. A gut hook, tree pruining loppers, vice...

Rem 700 223 build range report and build update

That's a very nice looking rifle! And I enjoyed both articles, well written and thought out. What twist is the barrel? Did your research on barrel length help you to decide on 20 for this barrel? What does the rifle weigh?

    Interarms Mark X...worth rebarreling?

U only live once. To get an, elk tag, to take your daughter on an elk hunt is priceless. I would do everything to make sure it's a hunt of lifetime and if I could afford a better rifle or scope or binoculars or...... I would do it. I also would get her as much practice as possible with the...
