    Yeah because of the slope of the stock plus the tall rings i made up for it with a mouse pad and camowrap. I think on the choate im going to use a kydex cheek rest with some rubber bedliner sprayed on it for grip.

    Thanks. Im running a ross schuler brake which i think im going to replace with a surefire one. Hopefully they come out with a surefire 308 procomp soon. Ive got a choate stock im still waiting for in the mail and thats about it for this build.

    My rings sit higher than i wanted because i had issues rubning my 20moa rail on the bell when adjusting for my eye relief.

    Nice groups definately have a winner. Have you tried fgmm 168? Do you know your velocity with those 175? Also your scope looks a tad high what size rings are those?

    Very good point which i had thought of. But i also gave thought to just borrowing one of my scopes from another rifle and dropping it on them for the time being. While thats less than ideal it would allow me to shoot. I think im going to heed the advice and just finish them instead.

    pros and cons of full length hand guard on AR

    I just switched from a carbine length kac rail to an alg defense 13" rail. Its absolutely awesome and weighs less than that hunk i had on it. I also purchased it new for a mere $113 shipped. Came with three rail sections as well.

    I figured it was because of swfa. Im from texas and the parts i always hunted in was always heavily wood except my trails and cutouts. I know for me personally to use a fixed 10 scope at the different distances i would come away with a lot less meat.

    Im more inclined to say 10x since it seems like you want a fixed scope. However with those short ranges a 6x might be better. Ultimately though i would recommend a variable scope.
