I cracked the trigger guard on my Remington 700

I have the standard aluminum BDM from a remington 700 short action. The paint has been stripped off, but I re-painted it with black primer. It's yours for 5 bucks + shipping if you want it.

What is your "Go To" factory ammo?

I typically shoot FGM 168g in .308. However it is a pain to find, and in a way seems wasteful when shooting for fun with friends in the woods. I am looking for alternative ammunition that can provide fairly consistent results out to 500 meters or so, but doesn't need to provide me with 1/2"...

Leica 1000-R or 1600-B for my application?

Hey all, I am interested in a quality rangefinder to be used for casual shooting/hunting. I typically don't shoot further than 300 yards, but sometimes out to 500. In the future I may shoot more/further, but who knows. I don't compete, or intend to, and while I like to shoot tight groups...

Something special from Bushnell Tactical (spotter)

From what I learned in econ.... Actual per unit production costs are typically less than 20% of the final MSRP. Add in the cost of overhead, R&D, shipping and advertising your at roughly 30-40% MSRP. Now tack on a 20% profit margin and you are in the realm of 50-60%. The final 40-50% mark-up...

Range Report Anyone have fps data on Federal Gold Metal .308 168g out of a 20" 1/10 barrel?

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I will try the method mentioned by Dfoosking, starting at 2520 and go from there.

Sidearms & Scatterguns looking for edged weapon/tool to cary in truck or BOB

I have a 16" piece of 3/4" re-bar in my truck. One end wrapped in duct tape, the other ground to a sharp point. Could work as a tool for several things, including smashing someones face if need be. Cost me nothing, and doesn't fall into the tacticool category. Pretty practical imo.

Range Report Anyone have fps data on Federal Gold Metal .308 168g out of a 20" 1/10 barrel?

I have a Rem 700 AAC-SD 20" in .308 and I'm trying to get my ballistics chart as accurate as possible. On the back of the Federal Gold Metal .308 in 168g box it says 2650 fps, but I'm not sure at what barrel length. Anyone have data from the AAC-SD?

    MultiCam spray-paint color match guide.

Yeah the first layer was hard to commit to, but it's not bad once you do it. I had already painted it once before. Stripped it down and re-painted it to this.

    Range Layout and Design

I cut the sidewalls out of a few old tires and used the tread to hang my targets. You can shoot em a hundred times and not even barely see it. Very weather resistant, flexible and will outlast your steel. I would consider going with at least 2 MOA targets, and then just painting a smaller...

    MultiCam spray-paint color match guide.

Hey all, Myself, along with what seems to be tons of others on the web, have been searching for colors that match the Crye MultiCam pattern. I just wanted to share my experience with you to hopefully save you some time on your paint project. First off, here's what my rifle ended up...

New paint, bottom metal and trigger! All done at home.

It was semi hard because the entire inside of that B&C stock is a solid block of aluminum so it's fairly slow going. I spent probably two hours on it, going back and forth between hand files and the dremel. I found the sandpaper bits removed the most metal the fastest, but also wore out fast...

New paint, bottom metal and trigger! All done at home.

Painted with spray paint. Machined out the bottom of the stock for my new bottom metal using a dremel and metal files. Also had to drill out the old pillars and put in bigger ones. Filled in my sloppy edges with bondo. And installed my new Timney trigger. \ All in a days...
