Reccommendation for My new Rifle Scope

I have a Rem 700 AAC-SD in .308 with a Vortex Viper PST 6-24 FFP MRAD on it. I have a 20 MOA base and a 200 yard zero. Since the scope is bottomed out at 100 yards, and 200 yards is 0.6 MILs up, I am left with roughly 18.4 MRADS (nearly 63 MOA) of usable vertical travel. As you can see in my...

Reccommendation for My new Rifle Scope

I highly, HIGHLY recommend the Vortex Viper PST 6-24 FFP. It can be had for $850 if you do some digging (MSRP is $1050 I believe). It is a very good quality scope and will easily take you out to that range. Not to mention that their warranty and customer service is excellent.

Gunsmithing Inletting for an M5 bottom metal... In over my head?

I have good basic mechanical skills, and access to lots of hand tools but no CNC or anything like that. I have a B&C M40 stock and want to install a M5 style (PT&G) BDM. Am I in over my head, or is this fairly straight forward?

    Citristrip review/warning

So I have seen Citristrip suggested numerous times as a good way to get spray paint off of a rifle. I went ahead and used this product to strip my rifle/optics. While it did work well at removing the paint off of everything, it did some damage to soft plastic components on my scope. I have a...

    Need help selecting a kit

Let me start by saying I do not currently reload. That said, my job is being transferred to New Zealand. I can bring along my rifle, and would really like to learn to reload (on my list of to do's anyway). However, EVERYTHING to do with shooting is 2-4x more expensive in NZ. (Basic Remington...

Will this item drop into a B&C M40 stock or will it require milling?

Timney Trigger a worth the time upgrade?

Looking for a durable, crisp adjustable trigger for a hunting rifle. Is the Timney a good trigger? Also, straight or curved?

PTG "Stealth" bottom metal vs "Flush" M5 style...

It's called "Stealth" because the part that drops down hides the magazine. (Or at least that is what I read somewhere)

Sidearms & Scatterguns Double Tap Ammo

I shot a box of .308 DoubleTap 168g "Match" ammo out of my 1/2 MOA rifle and was getting 3" groups at 100 yards. Edit: Was shooting 1/2" groups with Federal GM that day so it had to be the ammo.

    Leica 1600-B right for me?

(Edited: wrote this when I was falling asleep and it didn't make much sense.) Hey all, I am looking to purchase a rangefinder. My original budget was $500 but I could save for a while longer if it was worth doing. I am looking at the Leica 1600B as a higher-end option. A range-finder good...

    Where to buy steel?

I just pick up 1/2" steel plates cut in various shapes at the local scrap yard. Typically sold by the pound, you can get stuff for very cheap. I got 12" and 16" circles of 1/2" plate for like 5 dollars. Spray paint em white, drill a few holes in them for mounting, and you are good to go for a...
