    The Kuhnhausen book is great but it is a bit involved for first time reading. Whatever you decide on, go slow. A little bit goes a long way on fitting ignition components on a 1911. If they are drop in and function better than what you have, great.

    We recommend a Surgeon DBM with an AI 300WM magazine. It's not a drop in, will require inletting of the stock.

    Took longer to post this thread than it would be for your fav smith to fix it. Unscrew the barrel, insert tool of choice into casing, remove casing, reinstall barrel. 1/2 hour tops including coffee break

    Any reputable smith can do it. Not here to tout us as thats bad juju so ask around. The only thing to ask is if the smith has that throating reamer. If they dont they may ask you to cover the cost of it (which is standard).

    Are you using handloads or factory ammo. I ask as some powders are temp sensitive and as the heat goes up the powder works differently. I know some match shooters keep their ammo in a igloo cooler (not iced lol) but it keeps it stable. Seems that the warmer a days temp gets the more erratic some...
