    shaved copper on my bullets

Re: shaved copper on my bullets So I see a few votes for the M-die here. I don't mind repeatedly belling and crimping cheap pistol brass, but not sure I want to on more expensive rifle brass. Has anyone noticed split necks or other issues with, say five to eight, reload cycles with an...

    Reloader 15x

Re: Reloader 15x 43.5gr RL-15 with the SMK 155gr (old style 2155) has been working quite well for me in a 26" M700.

Gunsmithing Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews Keith, OK I think I got ya--you had to cut a channel out of the forward end of the stock for the bottom section of the rail assembly to sit down in. Bedding over it cleans it up. How much clearance do you have in the forward section of...

Gunsmithing Timney trigger for R700, Easy to install?

Re: Timney trigger for R700, Easy to install? Yep, took about 20 minutes to break down the rifle, pop out the roll pins and put it all back together. Heed the warnings about the springs and you'll be good. Hopefully you'll be extremely happy with the Timney like I am. I had read reviews...

Gunsmithing Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews Really, really nice bedding job! Out of curiosity, any particular reason you bedded all the way out to the end of the stock? What is the second notch forward of the recoil lug channel? Keep up the great work!

    Primers not seating properly

Re: Primers not seating properly +1 on the Dillon swage tool and rubber band trick. Has served me well for 223, 308 and 30-06.

Customer Service experience with a few manufacturs

Re: Customer Service experience with a few manufacturs My experience is that Dillon and RCBS both have on-shore support who are knowledgeable and ship parts free of charge. It's a pleasure dealing with them both.

    Giraud vs Gracey

Re: Giraud vs Gracey I've been happy with my Gracey. I've mentioned this before, but it's worth repeating--the best consistency is achieved when using similar lots of brass all sized the same. Both trimmers headspace off the shoulder and I've found slight variations in trim length between...

    Seating depth

Re: Seating depth If you're out of magazine length then I'm guessing you need to either change the shape of your bullet, or find one that is more tolerant of shorter seating depth, or both. According to this article, the benefit of secant ogive shaped bullets like the Hornady A-max is they...

    New reloading room!!!!

Re: New reloading room!!!! Uh oh, you didn't use mold resistant Bluewood--Mike Holmes is gonna have a fit! All kidding aside, nice work. I'd love to have that kind of space. I would look into a metal cabinet for your primers and powder similar to what a shop would store their flammable...

    Forster 3-in-1 mouth trimmer ...

Re: Forster 3-in-1 mouth trimmer ... I've got the 3-in-1 setup with the drill chuck attachment. Works great and is very consistent but honestly haven't used it once since I moved to a Gracey trimmer. The only negative thing I have to say about the Forster is that repeatedly opening/closing...

Looking to get an auto powder measurer and scale

Re: Looking to get an auto powder measurer and scale +1 on the Chargemaster. As I've stated before, make sure the press isn't causing any vibration on your reloading bench when it's in the final slow trickle stage. I eliminated nearly all of my over-throws by watching out for this.

    powders for .308 ?

Re: powders for .308 ? +1 with the folks using Reloading 15. Very accurate at 1-600yds for me with SMK 155 (2155) and 168 bullets. Some say it's dirty and has temperature fluctuation issues but I haven't been negatively impacted.
