It's not a video but it isn't hard either. As usual much easier after you get it once. I have used a push pin or the point of a compass to depress the plunger.
That said, Ledzep is right, you can absolutely slip...
That's directionally how it works.
If you're going to hold significant elevation that way, it's probably worth double checking. Just measure an object using the reticle at 22x (let's say it ends up measuring 10 MOA), then power down to 11x and measure it. If the reticle says 5 MOA, you're...
I grew up in Pennsylvania, and not only was that my dad's hunting rifle (till I got mom to upgrade him), but it was also the setup I shot my first deer with, a different rifle on loan from my uncle. both were the classic 30-06 760's w/see throughs. Core-lokt's a given.
I've never had the adjustment stay put long with the screw. I get it adjusted how I like, wedge a small piece of something in the gap so it can't slip down, and tape over it so it doesn't come out.
I have a 6.5 PRC barrel. I've never taken it elk hunting but would be very willing. I've shot bulls with 6.5x47's, 7-08AI's, and a 257 Weatherby. In reverse chronological order.
These days my hunting rifles top out at 6mm, and I'd happily use them for elk. As has been said by others before...
As per usual, no one has them in stock. Turns out the action I built on has a broken one. If anyone has one laying around hit me up, I'd appreciate it.
Have killed a few deer and antelope with 108 ELD's and a deer with a 109 Hybrid. No issues, but I used the Hybrid cause I was in a time crunch, not necessarily because I thought it was the best choice.
I'd personally use the 108 or 109 ELD or a 108 Berger Hunter if setting up specifically for...
Production class shares the 12lb weight limit, so it being on the lighter side is in your favor vs many popular target scopes.
I think it'd be a fine choice.
It takes some discipline to shoot a gun with zero recoil the same way as you would a gun that does move (just a little in the case of a match gun, but it does need some pressure). I can do it for a bit, but once I start trying to shoot as tight as I can I tend to start driving it different...
I've been using a Forster and a Redding Type S. I haven't sent the Forster in for honing as I have a batch of brass with turned necks I use it for. Both have worked great.
I just received a Harrell's bushing die that should be tighter in the body to work better with a snug chamber one of my...
Can't help with your question, but out of curiosity how long did it take to get? Their website is suggesting 6-8 weeks, which IIRC has been the same for a few years.
The AMP certainly seems like the easy button, but the cost difference is for real.
I've been running Proof prefits in 223 and 6 Dasher. They shot as good as any barrels I've ever had, full stop. The only downside to me is just the finite number of SKU's, but as has been mentioned that's a factor in hitting their prefit price point.
************** Anecdote time
I've been shooting 6 Dasher for comps since 2017. After the second or third barrel I basically stopped trying any type of OCW or ladders and just loaded for the velocity/pressure I was comfortable with. All because at the end of shooting a series of powder charges...
12x or 15x binos for me. I've been using Meopta 12x's at matches for years, and plan to sell the one spotter I have left.
Also, the Meopta's are fantastic.
