But noone has really cracked it perfectly
March? Reticles too thin, too much zoom range.
TT315 - too heavy
MK5/Mk6 34/35mm tubes
Vortex LHT should have been 3x bottom end
Etc
My old 3.5-10 M5 leupy Mk4 FFP is almost closer to an ideal solution than any of the new products. Have a March & Mk6...
Lightweight hunting option closer to 20oz than 30. FFP, a reticle that doesn't need illumination, 30mm tube, doesn't need heaps of zoom ratio, 3-12x42 would be perfect.
Model 7 .223, 18" 1:8 Bartlein, Manners EH8, CDI dbm with Accurate mags modified for full OAL, timney, 80gr ELDMs at 2800fps. Has a March F 3-24 now rather than the old FFP Mk4
Aside from the March and Mk6 there isn't anything good. A lot of us having been wanting something more for years.
I have both March F 3-24 and Mk6 3-18 and I prefer the Mk6 in every way except that it's 34mm tube which isn't quite as nice to find mounts for as a 30mm.
Mine didn't track straight from the factory. I sent it back and now it's flawless. I like it. The only comparable competitor in the weight range is the March F 3-24 which is possibly a better scope although the magnification over 18x is more or less useless and the FML1 reticle isn't as good as...
I've got the Mk6 and I like it, but it's 34mm tube, would prefer 30mm as it gives options for direct mounting using e.g. talley ringmounts rather than a rail etc
Literally a single actual lightweight (550-600gm) 2 or 3x to 12 or 15x 40-45mm FFP 30mm tube scope with half decent quality/reticle/etc on the market would be nice as a hunter that wants FFP and decent quality/features
Still doesn't exist.
2 or 3 to 12 or 15, x 40 ish or 50
Simple .1 mil tactical turrets.
Decent travel
Simple FFP mil-hash reticle (or a christmas tree since they're so popular these days)
30mm tube.
Top quality.
Side parallax adjust.
Compact...
I would have bought one of these if it was FFP. I have been using only FFP scopes for hunting for about 10 years, and strongly prefer them to SFP as once you are accustomed to the thinner reticle on low magnification there are no downsides in my experience. I now find SFP unnatural to use. I...
Nothing competes with the FFP 3-24x March scopes for weight/size except the Leupold Mk6 and that's 34mm and has a poor reputation (I like mine though)
I wish they'd drop the high zoom ratios and just make a really nice light properly featured FFP 30mm ~4x zoom ratio 3x mag low end 30mm...
