Hunting & Fishing Largest animal killed with a 22lr

I've known of several deer, hogs, and cows intentionally and ethically taken with a .22 lr. not saying i recommend it, but if you have confidence in your shooting and the anatomy of the animal it can be done rather easily.

    Maggie’s Funny story

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! Education is expensive one way or another

so, i ran out of argument (starting near book max)

A lot of you are deeming this unsafe. I know many factory loads are at max pressure. would you then deem shooting factory ammo unsafe?

22 LR build for Element 2

You probably won't regret that. it'll be a real nice rig either way.

22 LR build for Element 2

I think i should add that my .22 is just a Ruger receiver too. that could be responsible for the accuracy. not trying to take away from kidd. I like what they do. I'm also saying you can build a decent rifle without spending huge money. if money isn't much of an issue to you like it was to me...

22 LR build for Element 2

what are your experience with the sleeved barrels? I would be expecting to give up a little accuracy for that

22 LR build for Element 2

I'm using the KIDD match barrel. overall I am happy with it. I guess you have to ask yourself how accurate you want it to be. come to thin of it i think my buddy went with the higher grade shilen, but i think either one would have shot better. this is just one barrel too. far from a good sample...

22 LR build for Element 2

I do think you can get a better barrel than a kidd, but it will cost you. coWSMasher runs a Shilen on his and his is more accurate than mine. i shoot about moa with bulk ammo. and the best i've gotten is probably 5/8 moa with some real high end ammo. Volquartsen is another manufacturer. they...

22 LR build for Element 2

how much are you looking to spend? I like kidd innovative design for the money. I bought a stock 10/22 and put a kidd barrel on it with a boyd's thumbhole. i got into that reasonably priced for a nice rig.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Best 9mm sub compact carry pistol

I carry a ruger sr9c. It's fairly cheap, and i love it! i shot over a thousand rounds of four or five different kinds of ammo all the way from the weakes to +p defense loads without cleaning. I've never had any sort of failure whatsoever with this gun. always feed well and functions flawlessly...

    Another LE killing

I normally avoid pissing matches on the internet, but I feel like slapchop needs at least one more person to tell him he's a douche to really let it sink in. Slapchop...you're a douche.

Anywhere to get good custom ballistic charts?

and of course confirm this. they are not always right, though i highly doubt it's their fault. many manufacturers may overstate their BC, and oftentimes the velocity you enter in may not be correct either because of an inaccurate chrono, or in my case a lack of chrono and going off other...

    7mm-08

hopefully that helped a little? if not i can go over it with actual numbers when i have more time. I should add that i may wrongfully used the word "smaller" i meant smaller diameter bullets, using a smaller diameter bullet of the same mass will naturally have less air resistance.
  17. R

    7mm-08

kinetic energy= i/2(mass)*(velocity^2) ballistic coefficient is how drag affects a bullet. the 6.5 will generally be affected less by air resistance so will maintain more of it's velocity. if you recalculate with the energy at say 800 yards the masses will stay the same, both velocities will...
