If you want a 6.5 grendel, check out SOLGW, they are building me a precision 308 ar10, they also do 6.5g.
I have a 6.5 grendel from Sionics that is sweet. You will need to email or call them to build that, its not a regular thing they build (yet).
6.5 grendel shines in an AR15 - thats what it was designed for, and its compromises come from having to fit in an ar15 platform. I have a 6.5g AR from Sionics that i love. but if your running a bolt gun, you have alot more options without the compromises made to fit in a ar15. Not saying it...
So... question for the crowd...
I got the badger 35mm mount in, but the inside of the top half of therings have a lip on them, like the were cut for a smaller size. Any advice? Anyone see this before?
What made you pick the CCH reticle? I'm ready to order a 3.6-18 mk5 for a AR in 6.5 Grendel, but the only thing holding me back is reticle choice. TMR seems lacking, but I don't want an overly busy Horus or Tremor3. So that left me thinking the CCH, but it doesent seem to popular, and the...
I haven't placed the order yet - maybe tomorrow. I would go for th 5-25 for that built. I'm sticking to the 3.6-18 since its going on a 6.5 grendel AR-15.... keep it light and compact. For a long range bolt gun in a manners stock, i'm going 5-25 all day.
Whats the verdict on the Leupold mk6 IMS 35mm mount for an AR-15? Looking at the mk5 3.6-18 for a 6.5 Grendel AR-15 rifle... so its either the IMS or the AAdmount - but trying to keep the weight down.
Still undecided on reticle. Tend to not like horus type reticles, but the TMR is kinda...
Dude, you got a sgl for half what you could sell it for. The sgl is the russian import from arsenal, havent brought any in for awhile, and probably never will again. Dont go hacking on it ! Buy a bulgarian slr or something if you want to tinker.
Forgot to mention, there's no good off the shelf options for a lefty, hence why I just came to the conclusion I need to step up to a JH or AIAT. If we had options like the rpr, bergara HMR, or tikka CTR, then my decision matrix would change.
Although, bergara might be coming out with a lefty...
From a fellow lefty (and navy guy), I would consider just selling all the parts you have now and just getting a lefty John Hancock from PVA. About 2k, it will be a known-quantity, and designed from the start to all function correctly. You could recoup a huge chunk of that cost by selling the...
PVA makes the bravo lefty friendly for their john Hancock rifle package, I'm sure if you call them they can take care of you. You'll be much happier in the end .
I'm having a 308 build done by sons of liberty gun works in San Antonio. They offered it in 6.5 creedmoor as well. The model I'm getting is a precision set up, but they have other flavors as well. Should run under 2500. They offer 6.5g and .224v also in the ar15 frame if you go that route.
