Re: A <2 lb optic that tracks as consistent as NF NXS
Another vote for the March. Once weight and size become a priority everybody else falls to the wayside... And I've box tested mine extensively, and shot it for the last year including competitions. Not so much as a hiccup.
Re: Noveske 7.62 upper with switchblock?
Rainier Arms had a few listed, so they exist. Noveske has done this before, pulled down the 7.62 pages because they were too busy to keep up. Eventually they will be back up, and hopefully with the new stuff listed.
Re: Ancilary equipment: LRF vs. Kestrel either or
What is the typical scenario when you're shooting? Do you use DA or several inputs to calculate your drops? I ask because I had to make this decision a while back, and when I looked at the scenarios I was shooting in, it made more sense for...
Re: Mile High Shooting / AICS
I put Melissa through the wringer getting the details of my AE sorted out, she was great through the whole process. Now I have exactly what I wanted, and I've gone back to Mile High several times for accessories. Great company with great people!
Re: Are S&B scopes really that much better?
This gets asked on a regular basis, and almost every time the answer is the same. Those who have actually used an S&B can tell you that it is that much better than the others. Not just glass, they fail less than other brands, and are more consistent...
Re: Rem 700 5R .300WM info
The new threaded 5Rs in 308 and 300WM are both 5/8X24 thread. The 308 has a 20" barrel and the 300 has a 24". The 300 is a 1:10 twist. The HS mag system works, but ends up costing more than Badger, etc when you start buying the HS mags. I like the grip of the stock...
Re: Powder! IMR4064 or H4895?
I've been using 4064 for years, with great accuracy. It seems like I can throw 42.5-43 grains in just about any 308 and it's sub-moa. I've tried Varget several times and never got the tiny little groups I get with 4064.
For metering, I use a chargemaster and...

Kelbly's
Here's when I had mine on a REPR. It will save you weight over a NF, but you lose a little FOV. Depends on how you shoot, and what magnification you use.

Re: Nice 308 Long range Rifle
I'd get a 5R over a 700P. The stainless will be easier to clean up and it's a little faster twist rate for the heavy stuff.
Re: Remington 700 .308 5R 20" Threaded or 24" Barrel ?
I was getting 2550 out of mine and I wasn't anywhere near max. I attained those velocities with:
175SMK
Fed Brass
Fed 210M primers
IMR 4064 @ 42.5 gr
and I got about the same velocity with 44 grains of Varget.
Edit: The guys that I've...
Re: Remington 700 .308 5R 20" Threaded or 24" Barrel ?
This is a 20" threaded 5R, the model you're describing. It has a R&D Precision Rapid Brake on it in the picture.
