    Confused with zero @ 100

Other than a 100 yard/meter zero, which is close (but not exactly) to what you are describing, what zeroes don't intersect the line of sight twice? 25, 33, and 50 all do. The 100 yard chart you posted shows the bullet touching the line all the way from 60 to 120 yards (actually far more than...

    Confused with zero @ 100

They are essentially "lobbed" at a target beyond point blank range. They go up, and down, in an arc. That arc will intersect the line of sight on the way up, as well as on the way down.

    Confused with zero @ 100

I understand the English language very well. Do you undertsand that "And your illustration is hardly germane to this discussion as it appears to depict an iron-sighted firearm rather than one equipped with an optic as described by the OP. (<--Again, being facetious.)" is an incorrect statement...

    Confused with zero @ 100

Why do you feel the need to make inaccurate comments and then say "just being facetious?". A rifle that is zeroed does not know if the sights are iron, RDS, or scoped, but it is a guarranty that the bore axis is on an angle above the line of sight, no matter what sight system is employed. That...

    Confused with zero @ 100

OK, I see. The picture is a visual representation of what Sterling Shooter described. Maybe the picture will help those who believe the bottom of the diagram.

    Confused with zero @ 100

The bullet doesn't "get lift'. The barrel is angled slightly upward, as depicted in this drawing from the link I posted earlier..

    Confused with zero @ 100

No, shooting position has nothing to do with it. A 50 yard zero will come back on the sight line a little past 200 yards and is a popular "improved battle zero". It is still rising when it passes the 50 yard mark. A rifle with a 50 yard zero will have the round hit several inches high on a 100...

    Lightweight SPR style AR-15

My build is now finished and weighs 8 lb. 12 oz. without a scope or mount. I built the upper the way I wanted it rather than focus on weight as the OP is. ORD was right, the weight adds up quickly. DD upper 18" WOA SPR barrel Troy 13" Alpha rail w/ one picatinny section at 6:00 for bipod and 2...

    ALG Defense triggers

I think Mr. Geissele does a better job of explaining all his triggers than any of us can. He explains the ALG triggers at 27:40 in the video in the link below. It seems to me that the Geissele goal for the two ALG triggers was met and most of the comments in this thread confirm that. He clearly...

JP silent capture spring "tuning" springs

OP, may I ask why you are going with the JP spring system? I just built my own SPRish 18" rifle and I'm curious about your thought process for the Silent Spring. I hope to get out next week to shoot mine; just waiting on the scope mount.

    Buffer weight?

I don't hate your piston gun. I said its failure (you stated it will not lock the bolt on the last round) was not pertinent to the OP's problem with a DI 18" middie. ORD has provided some excellent info. Brass ejection patterns are not a definitive test to determine if the gun is correctly...

"Preferred" Back up Iorn Sight set.

The Aimpoint M4 can be used as a big ghost ring if the dot were to fail. You don't need "BUIS" if you practice with it. I don't se the need for "BUIS" unless you are a real warrior.

    Buffer weight?

The OP is running a middie gas system on an 18" barrel, with a rifle length RE, buffer, and spring, which should be a very soft shooting gun. The presumption that since he feels his rifle feels harsh shooting that his gun is overgassed makes the question of where, and how far, the brass is...

Looking for an accurate AR for around 2k

Does that mean you think I am wrong?

    Buffer weight?

I would try a heavier buffer or even a VLTOR A5 receiver extension/buffer before I would go messing with an adjustable gas block. There are many who prefer the A5 system for smoother shooting. Vltor A5 - Still a must have? Is your gun really overgassed? Where is your brass ejecting (1:00...

Looking for an accurate AR for around 2k

That is possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever read posted about the AR -15 platform. https://www.slip2000.com/blog/s-w-a-t-magazine-filthy-14/
