This sounds fun, also more cost effective and wouldn't take as much time either as the 30 round series. The target posted would work perfectly fine as well.
I also thought about that when I had my magazine apart cleaning up the seam weld in the front of the mag. Now just debating on whether or not to do it! If I move the spacer back I'll just have to shorten the bolt stop the same amount, or not use it at all.
Thanks Greg for getting those measurements for us! I may try to get my hands on some of the 185gr Hybrids or 175gr Lapua Scenar to try. With the tangent ogive I may be able to seat them to mag length and still be close to the lands. I'm just chasing the ever elusive bughole! To be honest...
Touching the lands with the 185gr Juggernauts 2.985" OAL and the Berger 175gr VLD 2.950" OAL. My magazine can reliable feed out to 2.900" so I'm just shy of them working in mine. DTA states that the short action magazine has a internal length of 3" and Orkan says the new mags are much more...
Does anyone know if .308 will feed out of the long action magazines? I need more internal magazine length to seat the bullets out farther. Either that or try to find another bullet to load test.
Great price on a set of monopod cut skins!!

The last 1lb bottles of Varget around here were $30 plus tax and they haven't been seen since last winter so I bit the bullet and got one of the 8lb kegs.
I'm currently running a G2 reticle in my Bushnell XRS and have been very satisfied with it. My last scope was a Leupold with a standard mil-dot and I like the G2 much better!
I have one on my DTA, do I think it's a very nice mount, yes. To be honest though, I think I'd have been just as happy with a set of Seekins rings at 1/3 the cost.
I shoot my DTA weak hand very well but I'm not doing it timed and under comp pressure either, I'm just a paper puncher. I will say that the DTA ergo's took a few range trips to get accustomed to though. After running several rounds down range I'm completely comfortable behind the rifle now...
Cal, did you disable (bottom out) the ZeroStop on the Bushnell XRS before you tested your elevation? My XRS shipped with the ZeroStop set to a little below mechanical center.
To be honest the factory stock on the T3 worked fine for me. I did open up the barrel channel just a bit to accommodate flex while on a bipod but other than that it worked great straight out of the box.
Without a doubt!!
Edit: add a little more OPINION, I've shot and owned a couple different Savage rifles and I've also shot and owned several Remington rifles. With that said, if you're wanting to do nothing more than maybe change a stock or maybe a couple accessories than Tikka is the best...
