Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Doc, Have you used it with a Foretrex? If so, does it communicate and populate just as fast and effectively as it does with the Kestrel?

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Yeah, I have not used the Foretrex, don't have one or know anyone that has one. My understanding was that it would function much like the Kestrel, with everything communicated. If so, it will be awesome. If not, ho hum. I don't know, I'll see what I can find out after Shot.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Yeah, there are a couple considerations in this line, one being price point, I think, and another being 'problem solving' through connectivity. I have an extended review of the BDX system, the first part about the 2400 I'll put up this week (hopefully). Will follow up with part II, using the...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Not really, not natively anyway. You need a compass for DOF, should not be a problem. But you need temp and pressure at your location, at the very least. Right now, that last set is pulled via the phone from the closest station via cell signal. When there is no signal, that info must be...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

No, the phone on the BDX is only for configuring the device (including uploading curves, wind, or environmentals manually, etc) or, if you keep the two connected in the field, the phone will automatically update the environmentals on the RF by pulling from the closest station. The full AB is...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Snow, I think the problem is that the BDX line do not contain an onboard compass to set DOF, so coriolis etc. cannot be properly calculated. For that, you need to go ABS, which has the compass, or use the external device. BDX is meant to be used as a connective device with at minimum, a...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Just got back from DSC and from the Sig booth. Got to look at the 3000's and play with them along side the Zulu 7 binos in particular. It's really hard to tell anything under indoor lighting, so I could not draw any definitive conclusions. I did notice that the Zulu 7's were a little warmer...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Putting wind aside for the moment, I think another exciting development here is the connection to the Foretrex. I don't have one, yet, but from what I understand, you get the full ab suite, GPS and weather capability, and the external temp sensor can be remotely located, so perhaps temp drift...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Yeah, I talked to a friend at Sig after I posted this. He told me that some of the parts (receptor? cant remember ) are increased in size, hence the additional range. Think I may need to grab some of these to try out if I can swing it. What do you think of the optics in terms of, where...

    Sig glass quality

Huh....may have to pick some of those up to test! Been impressed with the other BDX stuff I have been trying out....son needs a new RF and a new set of binos....

    Sig glass quality

Did you look through a pair of Zulus, or the BDX? And what optic from Vortex, Leupold, maybe lower end Zeiss, would you compare them to?

    Sig glass quality

Look forward to checking them out next week at DSC, but been field testing out a 4.5-14 Sierra level BDX scope this past week. Actually quite surprised at how good it is so far....suspect that the binos will be at the same level, as they are supposed to be Zulu 5 level optics, but don't know.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Yeah, I see that in the new catalog, they are quoting 5k for reflective, 2k IIRC, on trees and 1500 on deer, or something like that. The reflective aside, which went up alot, looks like they bumped their tree and deer estimates by a couple hundered yards. Last year, I was told the performance...

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

My understanding is that the 3000 BDX will have the same laser and ranging performance as the 2400 RF's.

Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

Guyotrd, My contact at Sig tells me the glass will be Zulu 5 level glass, so you are looking at a 3-400 set of binos with a great RF integrated. I am currently reviewing the 2400 BDX and a BDX scope, and the integration is pretty trick, but I would not expect them to compete with the Leica...

Compact LRF with programmable ballistic solver

Will do, also, there is a review on them by Robby Denning (IIRC) from Rokslide. His video review is on Youtube. Might check that out also, it's only one source, but it's a good start.

Compact LRF with programmable ballistic solver

Zulu 5's? Not sure where they might be carried locally to you. I don't think Cabelas carries them, but I could be wrong. Going to check some out next month at DSC but, can't say at the moment where locally you might find some.

Compact LRF with programmable ballistic solver

I was told 3000 BDX will have Zulu 5 level glass. So if you want to know what they will look like, have a look at those.

Sure thing, here is a link to the review: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/review-leica-2700b-and-kestrel-elite-solution-part-i.6880981/ I have a Sig 2400 BDX as well, just not finished with the review yet, but let me know if you have any questions on those as well.

    Rangrfinder

Furman, There are lots of choices out there that might meet your needs. The more expensive ones will provide higher level ballistics information for your shots, while others, like the Leica 2400 or Sig 2200 are more basic in those terms, but do not lack in terms of ranging performance. Just...
