what do you think i should do in this situation?

Re: what do you think i should do in this situation? The guy took it for a test ride. It worked fine then, right? He had an opportunity to have it checked out by a mechanic, or a trusted friend, did he not? Did he take advantage of that opportunity? Did you force him to buy it? Did you...

Gunsmithing ? re 1911 cycling failure

Hey there folks, a puzzle submitted for the collective wisdom. The patient - Springfield Armory 1911. Base model. Couple years old. Stock. Maybe 1000 rounds. Cleaned and lubed after every outing. Treated gently. The symptom - consistent failure to cycle/eject completely on an outing earlier...

Gunsmithing This is what perfection looks like

Re: This is what perfection looks like Nice to see Mr. Cloward is still at it. Lost track of him when he closed his shop in Seattle. Heard he landed up north somewhere. I have a .308 he built on a Norinco receiver. Oversize stock. Glass trigger. Bought it several years ago, when I was toying...

    Maggie’s Rednecks and gorillas

A small zoo in Georgia obtained a very rare species of gorilla. Within a few weeks the gorilla, a female, became very difficult to handle. Upon examination, the veterinarian determined the problem. The gorilla was in heat. To make matters worse, there was no male gorilla available...

    First time home buyer

Re: First time home buyer I've been a home inspector since 1995. Get a home inspector who will give you the info you need, not what you, or the agent, want to hear. Trying to save a few bucks on the home inspector may cost you more in missed issues than the fee difference. I know a couple in...

    Scratch another B17

Damn. I ponied up for a ride on this plane a few years back during one of its stops in Seattle. Amazing to ride with the ghosts of those who flew her in combat. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-110613-b17-plane-crash-pictures,0,3672607.photogallery

Maggie’s there are so many things wrong with this video

Re: there are so many things wrong with this video Looks to me like a poor actor shooting, at worst, a pellet gun. The sound track has been enhanced, and she has an exaggerated reaction to the "recoil".

    Primerica sketchy or legit?

Re: Primerica sketchy or legit? If I recall correctly, Primerica bought/merged with a company called A.L. Williams. ALW's focus was on getting people out of whole life products and into term products. The difference in premiums were deployed into mutual funds offered by ALW. ALW had a network...

    need some opinions

Re: need some opinions I suggest a bolt action. Let him earn a semi-auto by showing discipline with a bolt action. My first was a Remington 572. Still have it. Light. Accurate enough if I do what I'm supposed to.

    Gunsmithing ar 15 trigger ?s

Have a Bushmaster AR. Trigger is caca. Anything I can do myself to make it smoother? Best left to a smith? Or am I looking at a new Timney/Jewell/etc? Not looking for match grade performance, just trying to put the fear of God into cans and bottles out to a hundred yards or so.
