    I have a few of each (100% Kidd builds and Ruger's with cut/threaded factory barrels) and find there to be valid reasons for owning both. Walking around for a few hours carrying a Kidd isn't exactly pleasant, and a cut/threaded factory tube is perfectly accurate for squirrels at 50-100 yards.

    That's all you need, right there. I own a full Kidd 10/22 and if I were doing it over again, I'd have just bought the Kidd trigger and Kidd barrel and left it at that.

    - all rifles off the same assembly line are not equal: some CZ's are fantastic, others not so much. Same thing with most of the ones that have been mentioned so far. I've had the Savage's (BTSV), CZ's (453V), and Sako Quad, all of which are essentially equal in price...or were when I bought...

    If your Quad came with a barrel, shoot that a bit before you decide to replace it. If you managed to simply buy the action, I'd probably lean toward Lilja but my factory barrel is good enough that I cancelled my Lilja order.

    Leupold Mark-4 16x. On a 20MOA rail it has enough elevation to get me to 450 yards with WMT.
