    S.A.C. Rem 700 AICS 308 Build!

Re: S.A.C. Rem 700 AICS 308 Build! Yeah that's my rifle and I love it but now I need to find someone in central Virginia with reloading equipment to match it with a bullet. But yes, my hat goes off to Mark for making a rifle that shoots far beyond my expectations. And the cut that allows me...

Suppressors which 1911 if you had around $1500 to spend

Re: which 1911 if you had around $1500 to spend Wow I suppose I'll have too look that up. I've never had problems with mine but Mark Gordon and I bought our Kimbers around the same time and his was shooting 2-3 inches high at 10 yds and he had it sent back where Kimber corrected the problem...

Suppressors which 1911 if you had around $1500 to spend

Re: which 1911 if you had around $1500 to spend Whats so funny about a Kimber? Mark Gordon at SAC can custom fit the Caspian parts to make a super tight 1911 but he will not sell one for less than $2,000. I bought my Kimber for $900 back in 2004 and its still accurate as hell.

    Accuracy International Chassis System

Re: Accuracy International Chassis System I imagine you can order the the cheek rest and hardware from the your nations AI dealer. Once the parts are acquired you could probably have a gunsmith drill the holes to install it correctly. What ever you do you want to be able to remove it so you...

Suppressors YHM Phantom 7.62 Qd on 26" barrel????????????

Re: YHM Phantom 7.62 Qd on 26" barrel???????????? I just had my Rem 700 .308 barrel cut back from that setup to 22 in. I haven't do too much shooting with either set up but from the shooting I have done I haven't noticed any difference in the degree of POI shift. I had the barrel cut back...

Suppressors which 1911 if you had around $1500 to spend

Re: which 1911 if you had around $1500 to spend Well for that price you can't get one custom made out of Capsian parts, but the next best thing is the Kimber TLE Custom II. It is guaranteed to be accurate and if its not then they will fix it. For factory 1911's they have the tightest...

Re: Form 4 wait time I put mine in the mail a few days after Christmas and got it back March 17. Space and Time stood still from my perspective.

    Accuracy International Chassis System

Re: Accuracy International Chassis System The recoil lug will not need bedding at all. If you get your action trued then during reassembly the gunsmith will set the location of the lug to mate up with the stock. I could store change or trash in the the gap for mine but it mates up perfectly...

    Accuracy International Chassis System

Re: Accuracy International Chassis System Back to what I had said, before even considering to bed an AICS you should test the non-bedded fit to see if stress is being put on the action and barrel. If there is little to no stress on the action then it is pointless to bed it. About the...

Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 4 bases?

Re: Leupold Mark 4 bases? For a Rem 700 and a MK4 ER/T you may want to go with a 30 MOA base for shooting past 1000 Yd. Of course I don't know which MK 4 you have or want, nor do I know what your bullet drop is or how far you want to shoot, but I thought I would tell you that this winter...

    Accuracy International Chassis System

Re: Accuracy International Chassis System Well I love my AICS stock as well especially now! It is heavy which brings advantages and disadvantages. As for the feel of the stock I love it to death. I have the 1.5 model which makes it a little bit of a slight pain to clean because you have to...

    Accuracy International Chassis System

Re: Accuracy International Chassis System I just had my Rem 700 AICS checked by Mark Gordon @ www.shortactioncustoms.com and it turns out that the rear mounting point needed to be glass bedded because is was off 130 thousandths of an inch. Perhaps I got a bad stock from AI but it doesn't...

    Looking for reliable gunsmith.

Re: Looking for reliable gunsmith. Mark Gordon @ Short Action Customs is an absolute perfectionist. His prices right now are the best out there because he recently started his own business. The rifle he built for me shoots within .25 MOA with his test ammunition. I was there when he test...

    Bolt Knobs

Re: Bolt Knobs I would get one installed through SAC by Mark Gordon. He has a technique that he keeps secret and that is sought after by many other gun smiths. Check out www.shortactioncustoms.com Not only will it be stronger than most but it will perfectly match the angle of the handle.

    Bed an AICS Stock, necessary?

Re: Bed an AICS Stock, necessary? I just returned from a visit to my good friend Mark at short action customs and we did bedding test on my aics stock and found that it was .130" off on the rear bolt. He bedded just the rear mounting point for me and the results for were amazing. The rifle...

    .308 Barrel length?

Re: .308 Barrel length? I have a rem 700 aics SAC custom build with a 24" barrel, 1 in 11.75" twist and the YHM stainless steel phantom suppressor. I was told that longer barrels reduce accuracy from vibrations, is this true? If so is there a balance for the best twist rate, bullet weight...
