    Re: Stock suggestion for SPS Varmint Never weighed it with factory stock. It weighs in around 11lbs loaded. I do hunt with it. It's taken mule deer, antelope, and elk out to 600yds.

    I've seen alot of 26" barrels cut to 20" and threaded. What about leaving it at 26"?

    Hunting & Fishing 168gr or bigger for elk?

    I currently shoot 168gr amax's. Ive heard they are good to go for deer/antelope. Should I go bigger for elk? If so, berger hunting VLD in 190, 210. Alot of the ballistic info I have says the 168 @2700fps have more kinetic that the 190 @2500. The gun in Rem 700 in .308.

    All the ballistic programs I have run the numbers on and all of them are different. The gun is a rem 700 SPS .308, 26" barrel. Hornady TAP 168gr ammo going 2700fps. The scope adj are 1/8" at 100. My dope is: 100yd 0 IPHY 200yd 1 IPHY 300yd 3 IPHY 400yd 6 IPHY 500yd 9...
