Hunting & Fishing My first action with the 260...

Re: My first action with the 260... That is a plane jane mill dot reticle. I guess I really like what NF has to offer... I got this one about two months ago, traded for another 3.5-15 last month and have a 2.5-10 headed my way at the moment (if the guy ever ships the thing...). While I...

Hunting & Fishing My first action with the 260...

Re: My first action with the 260... It looks like it will be a fun rig and it is definitely a change for me. This is my first true "dedicated" long range rig and I think that I can really put it to good use at a few places... I haven't shot it past 500 yet but that will come once deer...

Hunting & Fishing My first action with the 260...

I spent the afternoon deer hunting and brought along the 260 that I traded for a couple of months ago. I sent it off to be accurized by 30calsniper and just mounted the scope on it last week. I had it at the range last week and was way impressed with how it shot. I managed a three shot group...

Hunting & Fishing Through the spotting scope pictures?

Re: Through the spotting scope pictures? This isn't very interesting subject matter but I was impressed enough with the quality of the picture to share it. This was taken with a fairly inexpensive Nikon Real Tree 15-45 spotting scope and my camera phone at about 350 yards. Not too shabby...

Hunting & Fishing wildlife tech or foxpro?

Re: wildlife tech or foxpro? Same thing here, I've had several FoxPro products including the FX3, FX5, Scorpion and the CS24. I like different things about each of them and the new CS24 is top notch but I think my next one will be another scorpion with the SP55 speaker in a yoters den bag...

Hunting & Fishing Back in action...

The hunting had slowed down considerably since about mid November but all of a sudden we are starting to see quite a bit more action. I don't know if you would call this the second stage of the rut because we really don't have a well defined rut around here but we definitely have a couple of...

Hunting & Fishing Anyone here use grunt calls for deer?

Re: Anyone here use grunt calls for deer? Cold calling on Whitetails can be really productive if done right and at the right time. Generally you will have more luck with rattling and a grunt call during pre-rut and of course when the rut is in full swing. It is also going to depend somewhat...

Hunting & Fishing God looks after fools

Re: God looks after fools Glad you weren't hunt and thanks for the reminder! I have a really bad habit about hanging my stands a little too high and I rarely ever wear a harness... I might just pull the fall-guy jacket out of the closet before I head into the tree next time.

Re: How is the Rage doing for you? Patriot I agree with some of what you have said and for myself the muzzy's have always been my go to broad head but I do like to try different things and the rage is definitely different. As far as staying away from "trends" are you still shooting a long...

Hunting & Fishing How is the Rage doing for you?

I shot a doe this morning at 35 yards and didn't make the best shot in the world but it got the job done. I was about 20 feet up on a pine tree in a climbing stand and the 10-15 mph wind was pushing me one a foot or so both ways. It sure made for a tough shot but I didn't screw it up too badly...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell Fusion 1600 ARC LRF -Another happy user

Re: Bushnell Fusion 1600 ARC LRF -Another happy user I got a set of these myself and have been fairly impressed with the unit. I have ranged trees out to 1,819 yards on a hot (100 degrees) summer day and I have had no issue ranging deer / hog sized targets out to 1,000. I have found one of...

    Hunting & Fishing Trail Cameras

Re: Trail Cameras I run a few different cameras and have a few different models. At the moment I am running two of the Cuddeback Excites, one Cuddeback IR, two Scoutguard 550's and a Bushnell Trophy IR. They are all fairly comparable but if I had it to do over again I wouldn't have gotten...
