    If you choose to go .300 BLK, pick up the cheapest .223 Savage action or rifle you can, get a 1/8 twist 16" barrel from any number of suppliers and assemble it that way. Should be able to keep the whole cost to $600.

    I chamfer is basically a bevel that goes from one surface to the other. Think of the shoulder on a cartridge, and if it was flat after the step down to bullet diameter. Basically file a little off the edge of the flat of the pin.

    On a Savage that damaged area makes no contact with any surface. It shouldn't matter. Document it and take it shooting and see if the accuracy is less than normal just to be sure.

    If this is ALL the money you can spend, get the Savage and buy ammo/glass with the savings. The TRG is nicer, but it's not going to be enormously more accurate. If this is just a rifle budget and you have oodles of cash, get the Sako.
