    Not a Sniper Rifle, but...

Geez, a bid already on it for $3950 and reserve not met? Someone needs to put down the crack pipe. Well some people pay that much for a Colt Python I guess.

    Not a Sniper Rifle, but...

Congratulations! Very interesting arm. Does that have an annular piston around the barrel? Reminds me of the German G41 semiautomatic.

    HK91 sharpshooter

That all started with the MG-42. The sincerest form of flattery!

My Larue 6.5 ultimate upper project

I have taken it to the range only once to sight in. I live in south Florida and have not found a range worthy of this set up. The only range available locally is but a hundred yards. I sighted using 147gr Hornady ELD rounds and easily produced sub MOA groups. I am planning on retiring at the...

My Larue 6.5 ultimate upper project

I have posted a dozen pictures of my vintage German sniper rifles on another thread. Those are just for collecting. This is one of my shooters. A LaRue Ultimate upper/ lower kit I built this past December. It’s all LaRue save the buttstock and sundry bits that make it southpaw friendly...

    Late war German LSR

Gunbroker Here is at least one reference in the new book concerning 6x in the LSR Here is an example from the new book showing 6x scopes as an option for at least the LSR. Also found this: https://rarehistoricalphotos.com/matthaus-hetzenauer-1944/ Obviously not a 4x see objective almost...

    Late war German LSR

My source is Dave Roberts, who was the main contributor for Karem and Steves 3 volume reference on the Karabiner 98k. A majority of the specimens and pictures in the reference are his. I will look at the printed material and see if he has anything about these included in writing. Even he will...

    HK91 sharpshooter

The 91 was just one of those guns on my bucket list, having acquired it years ago, I did not follow through on my usual historical research of the various offspring. I am very glad to have come to this forum. It is quite refreshing to see all the things I never knew about ! Keep ‘em coming.

    Early Waffen Heer Double Claw

No , but the bottom of the dovetail can be seen through the slots. I know the Mannlicher Schoenauer actions could burst when this type of dovetail was cut in the receiver. The Germans and the SS especially had objective mount scopes like this. They must have had problems as well because the...

    ZF41

This BYF45 code rifle with ZF41 was an attempt by the Germans to extend the range of an above average marksman. Issue began in 1941. It was a dim, complex little scope with long eye relief that attached to a dovetail machined into a special rear sight. The example shown is a vet bring back...

Thank you . I have not read that anywhere before but it makes perfect sense

    HK91 sharpshooter

Great forum! I have not seen any of those variants before. For a sheet metal rifle they are also quite heavy.

    Late war German LSR

Yes the Germans did issue 6 power scopes on LSR, SSR and turret mounts. The SS even had them on the early objective mount variants. They are quite rare but do exist.

    HK91 sharpshooter

To the best of my recollection, there were 5 snipers involved at the shoot out at the airport with the terrorist. The full auto version of this rifle (G3) was the rifle they were using. Unfortunately for the hostages, none of the officers were trained as snipers and had no optics or night...

    HK91 sharpshooter

Here is the famous HK91 in sharpshooter trim along with many modular accessories. This weapon system is the end result of the Nazi assault weapon program. I have included pictures of my MP43 Sturmgewher to show the lineage. At the end of WW2 several German engineers set off for Spain and...

    FG42 sharpshooter

This is a recently produced (SMG guns Texas) semi automatic version of the WW2 German paratrooper rifle. This weapon was amazing for a number of reasons. It fired from a closed bolt on semiautomatic and an open bolt on full auto. It is shorter than an AR15 carbine and fires the full powered 7.92...

    Swedish Sniper AGA44

I am honored by your reply. When I was of age, I wanted nothing more than to serve our country. My first choice was to be a Marine Corp sniper. However at 6’6,” my father had other ideas. His experience in the Navy was such he forbade this idea.My respect for him was and is still great, so I...
