    .260 REM barrel life is great given the performance of the round. I've no personal experience but all the research I've done points to barrel life just short of what a .308 does. I'd expect something in the neighborhood of 4-5k rounds through a .260 before accuracy became unacceptable.

    They dont call it a recoil eliminator for nothing. I've never felt a more effective brake than that honkin' JP one. But man is it ugly.

    A .260 with a brake on it should be a pussycat. It's what I am having built right now for me to shoot. The Savage 12 LRP is a good platform and is competition capable to 500 yards and beyond in stock form.
