It sounds like a great excuse to start reloading! I figure I'll be loading 338LM at $1.00-1.20/round. Not bad, especially if you are used to buying factory loaded ammo. Even .308 can get past $30/box pretty easily.

Ya, a 9.5tw will stabilize the 300 Berger fine. I have a 9.4tw 30" Rock barrel on order and I specifically asked them about the Berger. I also bought an 8 pound jug of both H1000 and Retumbo figuring that one of them would work. I've seen loads...

With some heat and muscle it will come right off. Read through the Remington 700P 338 thread and you will see many guys have swapped brakes.
