    20” 6.5 PRC vs 24” 6.5 CM

The advantage of the PRC will most likely, baring super slow barrel vs super fast barrel, not be eliminated by a 4" shorter barrel than a creed. The 18" 6.5 PRC i have shot over a chronograph averaged around 2800 fps (143 ELD-X hornaday factory). I do NOT have the data infront of me but it was...

    Premium repeater action recommendation

Defiance has less bolt "play" than impact (this is super nite picking). Impact will run in just about any conditions I have experience. Bat is right there with defiance although I haven't handled the hammer head. I chose a impact 737 with the 70* bolt because it was available at GAP in store...

    Which action to go with?

I voted other cause I like the Impact 737 better. The Zues would be my second choice. No hands on with BAT and don't like the CDG from a builder point of view. Don't get me wrong, this is all nit picking to the highest degree. All are top of the line actions and I'm just looking for shit to...

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

You would still push more powder through a creed to reach the same velocity as a gt. Reloading gt is cheaper than reloading my 308. Are you talking factory ammo prices for 6gt are higher?

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

You would know better than me Geno. I just go by numbers and what works. I'm all for experimentation and pushing the envelope. Seems like the next big trend is 25 creed. If one wanted to try a fast 22 I would try a 22gt. With in 100fps of creed with 85.5 s and 9 grains less powder.

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

To short of barrel life. Misses make almost zero splash. Most PRS shooters have stepped away from 6 creed for 6 dasher and 6 gt that's the marked trend. Slightly slower rounds that you can watch trace on and spot misses with. BTW I don't shoot PRS. I'm just going by what the winners are doing...

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

22 creed is nuts. 85.5 and 90s at 3200 fps from a 24" barrel. 50 grains bullets at 4000fps. Barrel life is short. Like 1000 rounds or less. Maybe much less depending on how fast you shoot. They tend to feed in everything I've seen. Great cotoye calling round for open country. Horrible PRS round...

    A Rifle Builders Tool Box

You don't know enough to be "gate kept". Yes you need head space guages for every caliber you plan to barrel. Both go and no-go if you want to be able to prove no liability if something goes wrong. You will need action wrenches for every differnt action you plan to barrel. The SAC barrel vice...

    A Rifle Builders Tool Box

What can you do besides slap prefits on actions and bolt them into chassis without a lathe and a mill?

Opinions on 2 rifles. Tikka vs Browning

Browning have near zero aftermarket support. Don't make the mistakes I did and get a rifle that has aftermarket support or never plan to modify it at all.

NOS GAP rifle i forgot I had.

I can't read any of the writing on my phone. I think a 6 creed GAP should move pretty easy.

NOS GAP rifle i forgot I had.

That looks like the defiance action they used before the Templar V3. Great action. That combo won't limit 99% of competitors. What caliber? Got the build sheet?

    Need a better muzzle brake

I would guess 2024 aluminum because higher melting point, lower thermal expansion and, while lower maximum strength, it has a higher Modulus of Elasticity. But I don't care and am just guessing. How does that Tac Ops brake look?

    Need a better muzzle brake

I wasn't saying yours doesn't work. I was stating what I believed it was and I never got good results from the ones I made. They did reduce recoil and work but either looked like crap or gave me to much blast. The best thing I made was a linear comp out of 40mm ti that made a 10.5" 5.56...

    Need a better muzzle brake

And PVA brakes work. Also quiter than my Fat B*. 45-90- yours looks like it has single side pirts and a single top port. Is that correct? I have played around with building muzzle brakes with 5 axis cnc milling and never got results I like in either recoil reduction or appearance.

That stock is stunning. If it wasn't left handed.

    Need a better muzzle brake

Not 100% TBAC related, but don't most actual test with equipment and data show suppressors do not match brakes for recoil reduction and that suppressors with brakes have to low of velocity to be of significant use to do much for recoil reduction? This is a actual question after having read about...

Help: Need to fill this gap (pics)

Threads should be .600 from muzzle to shoulder I believe. Measure it with the caliper and take Rubicon Precision up on their offer. Other option is send it to a smith and have them blast what appears to be about 0.100" off the length and re-crown.

    First rifle

Don't do it. $500 isn't enough for any centefire worth owning. By a RPR rimfire or cz457 and a $400 Arken scope. Buy a brick of eley club and go shoot. I think a lot of us made these mistakes. Start with a $500 rifle. Then a $300 trigger next is a $400-$1500 chassis/stock. Then $1000 for a full...
