    The Hensoldt ZF 3-12 has slightly worse FOV and is considered excellent (if not somewhat outdated) LRHS Not to be argumentative, but the LRHS has decent FOV and I think ticks the boxes for you. You’ll be able to find one, maybe a WTB here?

    Which LRHS? 4.5-18? I haven’t used one, but have the smaller 3-12 LRHS. I’ve read on here that most think it’s the pick of them. It’s been truly excellent, and I think they’re getting hard to find - but might be a solution?

    I have a Blaser R8 Professional Success in 22LR / 6XC / 7x64 / 300Norma magnum. The 22LR and 7x64 scope is swapped back and forth with excellent return to zero and the offsets for the 22LR just entered on the turrets. Works perfect.

    I’m about to pick up a Henry Big Boy X in .44 RM. next plan will be to get a NOE 400gr bullet cast. The 1-20” twist of the Henry will stablise them and a hard cast 390-400gr hollow point will do well at 1000FPS.

    My experience is that you need to bear in mind the slow twist rate. 285 Hornady ELD-M is at the very limit (and somewhat under) its ability to stabilise. More suited to 250gr. Also, longer projectiles are somewhat unsuitable in COAL for the magazine - thereby another reason for 250gr...

    As @Glassaholic identified earlier, I really wish Blaser would offer their 2.8-20x50 with a Christmas tree reticle. It’s 27oz with a rail, so under that without. That’s excellent considering it’s 34mm tube and excellent glass.
