Advanced Marksmanship best dvd for the expereinced LR shooter

I got the two dvds and watched the first one. There are a few subjects in there that really got me thinking. The first one was pulling the rifle back as part of setting up the prone position. I've been told how to do it by 4 different people and it's 50/50 on pulling the rifle back and not...

Advanced Marksmanship crazy shots!!!! lets hear about them...

One time I took a baseball bat and hit a basketball a full court length away from the other hoop to get nothing but net. It was on the first try, I have a witness but it was like 15 yeas ago, he may have forgotten.

    Advanced Marksmanship Books?

Seems like the rifles only 2nd volume dvd is good for field positions. Now, does anybody know a good book on dry firing exercises? I bet that kind of thing would be at the end of a more general marksmanship book.

Advanced Marksmanship Catching ejected brass questions.

It didn't really distract me from the current shot. I'm pretty sure it drew my attention away from the scope to set up the next shot.

Advanced Marksmanship Catching ejected brass questions.

I think I forgot to mention that I did get a chance to catch some brass off of a strait handle. It seemed to work alright, but it did seem to draw my attention away from the shooting process.

Advanced Marksmanship best dvd for the expereinced LR shooter

I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to remember the name of that dvd series. I want to buy them, but don't know if I can afford em.

    Advanced Marksmanship Books?

You read my mind. I was about to make a thread for this, but specifically for shooting positions. I am hoping someone can recommend a good book on shooting positions. I started reading a book called reading wind for rifle shooters. It's great, but I think I got to work on shooting positions...

calibrating quickload to real velocity question. OBT

In an optimum barrel time article it says that you need to first calibrate your quickload velocities to match measured velocities for a variety of loads by tweeking burn rate and bullet weight. How many different loads does somebody need to match up before saying it's good? I'm guessing 4 or 5...

    Best rifle data book.

I don't understand what those custom pages are. I suppose if there was an image gallery people would print their own pages.

Gunsmithing Bedding Compounds? Devcon still the standard?

Wait a minute, devcon hardeners go bad? I haven't opened mine yet, do I need to check the stuff?

    Max load questions.

Why would anyone want to use a hotter less accurate load than the optimal load? I know there are different nodes you can chase after. But I mean why would you want to go above them?
  12. goodgorilla

    Max load questions.

Why do people want to go for maximum loads? I mean, maximum loads are not necessarily the most accurate load? Secondly, how far do you back off your loads after seeing the first signs of over pressure? Only reason I could think why someone would want to go for maximum load over maximum accuracy...

Gunsmithing Bedding Compounds? Devcon still the standard?

It's not much better than Marine tex grey, but is much more expensive. I didn't find that out until after buying the titanium.

    Stupid COAL and CBTO question.

I heard about trimming meplats can leave them looking worse than they were before. Also, I've heard that if you use high quality bullets like bergers, you don't really need to worry about the ogive variance. Unless your doing fclass or bench rest like you said. I'm interested in this, but how...

    Stupid COAL and CBTO question.

Do you sort by weight before you sort by ogive radius? I doubt I will be shooting f-class, but I am just curious. Also, that bullet sorting stand looks pretty neat, I'll probably buy something like it. One crazy question is do you need a zero for each sorted stack of bullets?

    Stupid COAL and CBTO question.

How often do you measure the CBTO after seating bullet? How do you measure ogive radius? I was thinking that, but do not recall reading about it. Also, when does bullet weight variation come into play? Do you not have to pay attention to it because the CBTO is that important?

    Stupid COAL and CBTO question.

I have not reloaded very much, how constant is the CBTO after seating multiple bullets? I'm guessing the CBTO is constant and the COAL is variable. I guess my real question is does a die seat a bullet to CBTO or COAL?

    bullet fact or fiction?

Is it true that certain guns "like" a specific brand over different ones?
  19. goodgorilla

How important is the shoulder measurement?

Yes I am pretty new. I know the basics with very little practice. I spent most of my reloading time reading the ABCs of reloading.

    CBTO, COAL, concentricity. relate how?

I've just read that section of the berger manual for the 3rd time or so. The manual is sitting next to me, reading the stickies sounds like a good idea.
