Hunting & Fishing Well, you only live once! Booked Arctic Muskox hunt!

oh man is that a Weaver K scope? Talk about a classic piece of kit. Very cool to get all the big bovines with a rig like that.

Sidearms & Scatterguns So the bastard child (40s&w) is now popular again?

.40 S&W remains relevant because LEOs and USPSA shooters still use it en masse. For the general public, it only exists to panic-proof your collection against 9mm shortages.

Leupold Mark 5HD Selected by Army Precision Sniper Rifle Program

https://techlinkcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/US10042177.pdf Looks like figure 3 is an actual reasonable riflescope reticle. The others all make some sense for spotting scopes.

    338 Creedmoor / 8.6 Creedmoor

In theory, better function with subs because of the shorter case and sharper shoulder. As far as I can tell, anyway.

Gunsmithing Pacific Tool & Gauge SUCKS!!!

My purchasing experience was okay for my Savage bottom metal. Not great. Shipped me my bottom metal without notifying me so it sat on my porch on a vacation weekend weeks before the estimated lead time. Whatever. But it's supposed to be "drop in" to the factor Savage DBM bottom metal inlet. Well...

    .270 vs 6.5 CM for Hunting 25 - 300 meters

People like .270 because it works well enough and it has been around for nearing 100 years. Lots of heritage with the cartridge. Lots of people growing up hearing and reading Jack O'Connor hunting stories. Not everybody is chasing 100% performance.

    ?? diff. b/t savage 10 & 12 ??

Oh man, I always forget about shank sizes when talking about this with people. Cellular, are there particular models you're looking at, or are you wondering in a general sense?

    ?? diff. b/t savage 10 & 12 ??

12s are (mostly) stainless target/varmint actions. Some have wide open actions, some have ports. They (almost) all have heavy stainless barrels. 10 is just the baseline, could be a hunting rifle, could be a tactical rifle. (12 LRP is carbon steel action and barrel) This is an old breakdown...

    277 Sig Fury

They've been making those since 2016. 270 Sherman guys love them. LRH Forum probably has a a few threads you can find recipes and chrono results.

McMillan Game Hunter + Kuiu Verde 2.0 = Sheep Rifle

How many steps of tape, spray, bake, etc, go into a pattern like this?

What do you hope will be revealed at SHOT Show? Or 2020 in general.

Put this straight into my veins.

My "budget" Savage Experiment & Bell and Carlson Medalist 6 Review

Mags aren’t seating properly. Mag catch doesn’t engage, feed lips are too low for the bolt to pick them up. Can’t tell if there’s an inlet problem in the stock or an interference in the action.

My "budget" Savage Experiment & Bell and Carlson Medalist 6 Review

This is everything I am trying and failing to do with my Savage .270. Got a takeoff Accustock for cheap and a PTG bottom metal that fits it, but doesn’t feed.

    PTG bottom metal for Savage

Let’s zombie this again. I’ve got an email out to PTG about this as well, but maybe someone here will have some insight. I just installed my bottom metal in my 116. Everything fit fine. Had to file a couple thou off one plastic corner of the accustock, took five minutes. Problem I’m running...

First Run and Gun, First Run and Gun Build

That’s a very appropriate set up for a Run and Gun. I did my last one with a 12.5” gun with a P4xi, so your equipment will handle 600 easy. What do you have attached to the handguard with the elastic?

    Fast Twist .270 Winchester

Thanks for the tip about your LRH post. It was interesting and gave me some hope, but I admit it seemed mostly people bragging about muzzle velocities with their .277" magnums. If you turn up any more .270 Win specific info I'd love to read it. I'll make an account over there and follow the...

    Fast Twist .270 Winchester

I also believe .270 is good for most things I’ll ever hunt. Whitetail, elk, mayyyybe moose. Moose are one reason I’m interested in the possibility of the really heavy bullets. But I don’t know if I’ll ever actually do that hunt. Maybe I’d be better served by just chopping my factory barrel...

    Fast Twist .270 Winchester

Yeah, bullet selection isn’t great, but it’s better than it was in 2015. I’m glad to see someone else enthusiastic about this topic.
