Swift Scirocco II bullets any good?

Re: Swift Scirocco II bullets any good? Yea, I may end up hunting with the 130 Berger also, but I believe I'm going to try the Scirocco first. I can't get too excited about hunting with the Bergers--I would rather a bullet stay together and exit.

    Question for backpacking/hiking/camping experts

Hey fellows, I'm about to get pretty serious about backpacking and hiking with some camping thrown in. I need some advice on gear-primarily backpacks. I've been researching for a couple of days now and so far like the Kelty Redwing 3100 the most. My questions are: 1)Who are the top/best backpack...

Swift Scirocco II bullets any good?

Re: Swift Scirocco II bullets any good? Yea, I was wondering about that high BC . I'll compare them to my Scenars and Bergers to see. I've also heard they may be a little picky to get to shoot. That is probaly due to their secant ogive, but I guess that secant ogive also helps with the high BC.

Swift Scirocco II bullets any good?

I'm about to get a box of these (130 grain) to try this hunting season in my 6.5x47. Anyone have any experience or have heard good or bad about them. They look very nice and seem to be similar to the Nosler accubond. Thanks

Any 6.5x47L shooters, change over to 260?

Re: Any 6.5x47L shooters, change over to 260? 6.5BR, FWIW, I shoot a 6.5x47 and absolutely love it. IMO, I would rather have the x47, but I'm sure someone will tell me and you why I'm wrong. I have reloaded for awhile, and have never got as good ES and SD #'s as I do with the x47. I think it...

Cheapest way to buy a 338 lapua rifle

Re: Cheapest way to buy a 338 lapua rifle mrskylinetou, If you're interested, I have a custom APA 338 Lapua that I have been thinking about selling. Nesika action, Broughton barrel, McMillian A-5 adjustable cheek, jewell trigger--I give you more details if interested. Really sweet rifle, I...

    Winchester or Lapua 308 cases??

Re: Winchester or Lapua 308 cases?? I think it depends on the shooter's budget. If you have deep pockets, buy Lapua, if not then buy Winchester so you can shoot more. I don't have deep pockets, but I still shoot Lapua--it's that good in my opinion. Eliminate as many variables as possible and...

Range Report Exclusive JBM user needs another program

Re: Exclusive JBM user needs another program I use an Itouch with BulletFlight loaded on it. It is very accurate and easy to use. The Itouch also serves other purposes, so that helped me to make the decision. It will cost you more up front to purchase the Itouch, but the app is really cheap...

Range Report How far to shoot 168 SMK at roughly 2580fps?

Re: How far to shoot 168 SMK at roughly 2580fps? We have shot FGMM 168's to 1000, but it's tough. Personally, I think 800 is the farthest I would shoot them if shooting serious for groups. FGMM 168's are around 2620fps.

    Suppressors Kahr PM9

Re: Kahr PM9 I bought a pm9 from Bud's probaly 6 months ago. It is crazy how accurate this tiny pistol is. It shoots as accurate as my Kimber does. It is my favorite pistol by far. Check out the Crimson Trace trigger guard laser for it--it's sweet. Mitch Rosen also makes a really nice itb...

    Good news, Oehler 35P

Re: Good news, Oehler 35P How does the 35P compare against the Kurzzeit PVM-21 (PVM-08 its now called I think). I almost got in on the PVM-21 group buy a while back, but never did. I'm glad I didn't since now I have 2 options. I've always heard the 35P was the holy grail of chronos, but...

    Vihtavuori N-570 for 338 Lapua

Re: Vihtavuori N-570 for 338 Lapua From what little testing I've done so far, I don't believe N-570 will give the same speeds as Retumbo and it seems to fill the case more. 93grs N-570 seems about the same as 95 grs Retumbo pressure wise and also seems to fill the case a little more. I'm not...

    Vihtavuori N-570 for 338 Lapua

I just got 2 lbs of N-570 from Powder Valley and all I can say is this is the worst handling powder I've ever dealt with. The kernels are too LARGE. I'm a big Vihtavuori fan (it's always been the most consistent from day to day for me), but I'm a little disappointed in the size of the kernels...

Re: Got Some Berger 338 300 grain bullets!! When available, if someone could post the base to ogive measurement of the 300gr. Bergers , I would much appreciate it. I have a single shot Nesika now shooting the 300 SMK and am wondering how much further the bullet will be in the case. Thanks

Specifically H4831sc, Varget, H1000, H4350 and Retumbo. I believe they are, but I'm not sure. Thanks

    BEST Action ?

Re: BEST Action ? ronbuck, go over to 6mmbr.com and check out the actions page. It will get you started very well. It's a few years old, so there is some new stuff out there. Custom actions are nice, but if you don't want to spend as much $$ there are factory rifles (.308 especially) that are...
