    .308 AR build help

Re: .308 AR build help I shot a MA TEN with a Ranier ultra match 20" barrel and it was an absolute hammer. They use Shilen blanks and they can cut them for either DPMS or Armalite.

    Tac-338 or wait for GAP?

Re: Tac-338 or wait for GAP? I wouldn't worry about the resale on the GAP. Judging from my limited experience in long range bolt guns (this site) and the short time I've been a member, it seems like if GAP made a salad shooter you could sell it in a day or two on the Hide's for sale forum.

could use some help debugging an AR

Re: could use some help debugging an AR I had a 20" Noveske in a VIS and it grouped 77gr SMK's over 24 gr Varget @ 2.250" really well. I know this probably doesn't help much but it's worth a shot. If you have the means you could put the WOA barrel and BCG in the VIS and see what happens...

Help a noob prepare for precision rifle class PICS

Re: Help a noob prepare for precision rifle class I agree with KAC but if you don't want to spend %225 on a PRS you can customize an A2 (zero moving parts = sturdy) to almost any shooter, especially if you're adding material to it like cheek rests and butt spacers, as long as the LOP is not...

    Light weight extended handguard suggestions?

Re: Light weight extended handguard suggestions? +1 for the JP/VTAC's. Being able to put rails only where you need / want them is awesome. The tacticool-ness of quad-rails (and the feeling in your hands) wears quickly in my opinion.

Troy Defense 5.56 Carbine @ Dicks Sporting Goods

Re: Troy Defense 5.56 Carbine @ Dicks Sporting Goods I have never used one of their rifles but they do make really nice rails and BUIS's.

    LMTs Painted before and after

Re: LMTs Painted before and after That's pretty B.A.! What do you use to paint the plastic parts on the PRS with?

    Troy Industries Bravo Rail

Re: Troy Industries Bravo Rail I shot a .308 with one last week and it seems really sturdy. Anything made by Troy is going to be a quality product I would imagine. I really prefer round hand guards and have 3 AR's with VTAC's. The ability to put rails only where yo want them is the thing I...

JP Enterprises, LWRC, or Armalite SASS?

Re: JP Enterprises, LWRC, or Armalite SASS? If you are not sure you want to spend $3.5 - $4 G's on a rifle DO NOT SHOOT A LRP-07!! That's how I ended up with one myself. Seriously though they are worth the money and the customer service is second to none. Call the shop and they will hook...

    SPR build finally finished

Re: SPR build finally finished It's not overkill when you're by yourself trying to find .223 cal. holes in paper @ 300-400 yds. Nice rifle!

To cut or not to cut

Re: To cut or not to cut If you're going spend the money to have it cut down, crowned (I'm assuming), and threaded, and you know it will be suppressed in the future I'd take it down to 18". Taking 6" off the muzzle would probably be equal to a can, a Ti can anyway. Especially if it's a heavy...

    Useless Modifications????

Re: Useless Modifications???? Gotcha, I mis-read the post. And yeah that might be tricky, not to get off but re-using the M.I.T.E.R. Post in the "Gunsmithing" forum and maybe a knowledgable machinist/welder can hook you up. As far as the gas block, call one of the companies I listed and...

    Useless Modifications????

Re: Useless Modifications???? A gusmith can remove your gas block without destroying it pretty easily. Another option to the switch block is an adjustable gas block. I have a 10.5" LMT with an adjustable A2 sight/gas block and it works great and you can fine tune it your rifle depending on...

Larue or KAC M5 RAS for 20" build?

Re: Larue or KAC M5 RAS for 20" build? I'm a round handguard guy myself (3 rifles wearing VTAC's) but if you like the LaRue you have now, and they treat you right, I would stick with them. I stopped trying different things just for the sake of trying something different long ago. I'm not...

    Switch block on GAP-10

Has anybody seen or have a pic of a Noveske Switchblock on a GAP-10? I think I'm going to place an order when I return to the States and was wondering how they positioned the block so you can get to it under the POF rail.
