Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

Finally made it out to Ranch for the weekend but 30+mph winds not the best for trying to zero and shoot coyotes/pigs tonight. May get some pics at least to show performance in wind/dusty conditions. Trying to work through issue with a non spec AR rail. MI handguard on my 6.5cm AR10 not wanting...

    Coyote Hunting Chest Rig

I like the Crye JPC (v1) to keep the basics up front, with external battery for thermal scanner zip tied on the back. Not huge pockets and keeps things streamlined.

Night Vision Recommend IR illuminator for LR

Have used Luna, DBAL D2, TNVC Torch, mil Issue PEQ15, mil issue NGAL, and recent Somogear peq 15. Heck even an old giant light force spotlight with an IR cap on it. Luna has hands down been best with filter removed. Using SIMRAD and Luna with 50% illum one night could count antlers on a buck at...

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

Mine has worked no issues messing around the yard, but still no formal hunting trip. Out of the box it’s been short press to bring up reticle, another short press to laze. Maybe mess with settings in long press menu? Could be on something weird?

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

I think the easy takeaway from all of this is that the Athlon 2-12 is the standard, or “best in class” option. If you want my money, prove/justify why your new product is better than it. Less weight, better reticle, better glass, better turrets, etc…. Show me why. If not, or no significant price...

About to purchase weapon mounted NV. Opinions please

For carbines a D2 is great. For a precision rig shooting out to 600m+ it is shit compared to a Luna. And a Somogear PEQ15 is just as good as a D2 for 90% of use case at 1/6 the cost. And it doesn’t give a giant red glow that spooks animals if hunting them within 200m. Ok, I’m done with this...

About to purchase weapon mounted NV. Opinions please

Ok. I’m a cheap bastard, so full disclosure there. 1. I would research recoil rating of KN203. Pretty sure it can handle 338 and for the price I’d be willing to try it out if not specifically stated. 2. Buy a Luna. 3. Mount both to rifle and see if this is something you even want to get into...

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

Looks like the ballistics profile and solver are internal to unit once you push a profile to it. Was playing around with it in the rain/humidity this morning (worked great) and it was still generating solutions when ranging despite not having my phone with me.

About to purchase weapon mounted NV. Opinions please

Don’t forget about a used Kn203. Can be found used for $2-2500. Way better image to me than PVS30 and you can actually reach the focus knob. Paired with a Luna will be good to 1k and farther depending on ambient conditions. Just not certain of recoil rating on it.

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

Kudos to @Overwatch260 on the 1x menu setting. I was also able to figure out synching the ballistic app to the unit. Took a while of tweaking bc to get to match my Kestrel but good enough out to 300m now which is likely as far as I’ll ever shoot pigs/coyotes at night. REALLY impressed with this...

Disregard. Figured it out. Got to the other settings.

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

How did you get into the magnification settings? I’ve been tinkering with it today but can’t seem to get past the basic five items on the menu. Looks like the ballistic app does not synch with it from what I’ve tried so far, but not a big deal.

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

In my case, dial or hold 0.1 mil elevation (100 ELD VT at 3150fps). There is an Athlon ballistic app but I don’t know if it links to the unit. I need to true it up with my established data on my kestrel. Have a lot of tinkering to do with it this and next weekend. Once zeroed to “collimate” your...

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

Image from app. Super easy to set up. 2x base on this scope is great, pretty narrow FOV at 6x but useable. 10x is absolute max. Other rifle is a 4-25 and think the 4x will still show the range reading. Gonna put away for now and get back to work but should have much better feedback after hunting...

With 0.5” riser lines up perfectly on the 1.96 mount.

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

Will find out next weekend. Had to move from 12 o’clock to fit the thermal. I never trust LAM zero anyways and always to a quick check before I go out each night.

That is a 1.96 mount on the SBR. My other rifle is 1.5 and will likely line up perfectly.

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

Expert Voice /Athlon ships freaking fast. Pleasant surprise delivery this morning. Have a 0.5” picatinny riser coming today to line up better on the SBR. Should be fine on my 6.5cm once I get out to Ranch next weekend. Batteries on charger for now but moved some stuff around to test fit in the...

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

Got notification mine shipped earlier today. Will likely mess around with it on the 22 in the backyard this weekend to get the buttons and processes down. Weekend after should be able to get out to Ranch and whack some pigs and coyotes with it.

Precision Rifle Gear Looking for a do it all rangefinder/ballistics

My older Sig Kilo 3000bdx paired with a Kestrel 5700 Elite work perfectly shooting animals out to 400m and steel out to 1000m. Just have to read wind accurately, elevation isn’t the issue after truing it up to my load.
