    F T/R Competition Suppressors in F-class

On a related note, I actually shot an F-Class match a couple weeks ago with a can. The club had changed from registered to approved matches while some things got sorted, so I used that as an excuse to play around. I took 4th in F-T/R out of 14. I wouldn't recommend doing it as the mirage and...

    F T/R Competition Suppressors in F-class

In this context I think he's talking about Nationals, and when the conditions are stable and/or calm. If so, he would be 100% correct. If you drop a point in conditions like that, you pretty well drop 5-10 positions instantly. To a lesser extent the same can be said for a lot of better attended...

Load developement for using the Satterlee method

If it were me, I'd find the velocity to be too high to trust it to remain stable in all temp conditions. I know guys will swear up and down that they're getting 2900fps with whatever 140 class bullet, but in my experience the consistent sweet spot is the high 2700s/low 2800s with the longer...

Load developement for using the Satterlee method

41GR. That's a well established load with the components you're using, and it's clear as day 41 is in the middle of your node based on your testing. Load at 41gr on the dot, and do your depth testing from .005 off, working back in .005" increments. You'll probably find a depth that one holes...

Advice wanted: High-end equipment upgrade priorities

I've got a Giraud, AMP MK2, and Auto Trickler. I also use an RC Supreme press. If you were going to upgrade for speeding up the process, I'd go Auto Trickler>>Giraud>>AMP. For accuracy benefits I'd go Auto Trickler>>AMP>>Giraud. The AT will speed up your time at the bench significantly...

    Rank .308 Brass Brands

How on earth does a post this old get bumped? It's kind of settled by the F-T/R shooters; everyone is running Lapua Palma. I can't think of a single TR shooter on the line at the clubs I attend running anything else.

    F T/R Competition Suppressors in F-class

I wouldn't want to run a suppressor, even if it were allowed. You'd be getting your barrel so smoking hot after ~6-7 sighters and 20 for record in a short timeframe. The mirage would be terrible, and I'd have to think it would reduce our already short barrel life. Not to mention, the more carbon...

    New single stage press

The MEC looks like a good press, but it looks to be for reloading while standing. The design of the primer catch, and the articulation of the linkage mean it will need to be elevated off the table. I like to stand while I reload, but you may want to take that into consideration. If I were...

    Shooters world powder

    Measured today...200.20Xs at 3.113" (.012" off) and 175 SMKs at 2.970 (.020 off)

    Shooters world powder

Not sure what reamer you used for your chamber, but I was running those 175 SMKs .020" off in a .180 freebore chamber. It's going to lower the velocity quite a bit relative to something seated to SAAMI spec.

    Shooters world powder

I've run it in two rifles so far; very early testing. Both rifles are chambered specifically to run heavy for caliber bullets in F-T/R. I'm posting this as a reference point for anyone who comes across this. Generally speaking, I'm about 2-3gr over book max for any powder/bullet combo in these...

Having Flyers with my Reloads and I can't figure out why.

Well that sucks. It's a members only range, and I'm a non-member, otherwise I'd be glad to meet with ya there. The only reason I'm even allowed out there is because they allow non-members to shoot matches, provided you're on target in 2 rounds. Regarding the shoulder bumping, you need to be...

Having Flyers with my Reloads and I can't figure out why.

Andrew - You shoot at Bayou out off 288? I'll be there shooting a 1k match on Sunday morning. I've burned out a few 6.5CM barrels in my time. I can help you sort it out pretty quick if you need, and I've got an LabRadar in the truck too. ;) That said, I'll touch on a couple of things...

    Triggertech Diamond Malfunction

I broke a TT diamond shooting a 223 with 90s. Had about ~800 rounds on the trigger when it just randomly locked up. Safety wouldn't engage, trigger wouldn't release. I had to send mine back to TT in Canda; it took a couple of weeks, but they sent me a new one. I was only out the time and cost...

    McMillan A6

I've got a 30" Heavy Varmint on mine, and it flexes. I may have been the post you read about, not sure....think I posted about it once before. My A5s feel slightly stiffer, when you grasp the barrel and stock between your thumb and index finger & squeeze. Still, it doesn't affect accuracy at...

    OAL drastic change.

Do I meausre each? No. Over a batch of 100 cases, I'd guess you see an ES of .0015 if you're doing it right. Most will fall within .0005 of eachother though.

    OAL drastic change.

There's a lot that is fundamentally wrong with what you're doing OP; I say this lovingly. 1.) Those aren't comparators. That's a caliper. Comparators attach to calipers to give you relative measurements. Get a set of OAL and headspace comparators. 2.) Once you get the OAL comparator, measure...

    Krieger vs. Proof Research CF?

Never seen a slilnger shooting a CF barrel on the line. I've seen LOTs of Kriegers though.
