    IOR glass is good. But IMHO the glass on the three ST-10 scopes I have owned has been on par. I also liked the reticle options for the USOs. I also preferred the knobs and parallax adjustments with the USO over the IOR. I would save a lil bit more and get the St10 Good luck with your search AS

    In the past I have used 2 10 rd and had 1-2 5 rd mags in reserve. Never had problems having enough rounds for a stage.

    I believe it falls under personal preference. But what ever you pick make sure you are consistent, changing your grip and finger interface with the trigger could create inconsistent trigger pulls which can influence accuracy. Just my .02 hopefully some more experienced shooters/teachers can...

    Nope. No issues at all, locks the slide back with no issues with all my magazines. And functions smoothly when you need to drop the slide. It is a tad tight and can be a booger to get out if I ever take off the mount. Another down side is you are gonna be limited with any holsters you choose...

    Boots for competition?

    Look at Salomon or Asolo. Make sure they fit your feet well, blisters F&*king suck. IF you have an REI around, they can help you find a boot that will fit you and tailored toward what you are wanting to do. Good luck AS
