Noob Handgun Reloading (Straight Wall Revolver)

Would love to seat and crimp at once... but I got better results in separate steps. If crushing brass, likely too much crimp and or need more case neck bell/expansion

    Jewell trigger screws

Have a rem700 here with a jewell trigger installed. Appears to be missing the screw on the pull weight adjustment! Bad luck since I guess jewell is dead now? Does anyone know what size/threading it is? Hope to get a replacement in there so I can shoot it or at least not lose the little spring...

Looking for data 300grn 44 slow slow slow

Op, you should be able to run a 300g bullet to 900 or 950 fps without much trouble. Likely best to use a lighter bullet meant to expand from a pistol at low velocity as long as you can take a clean shot. Lots of good info in above posts. 900 or 950 will be quieter than typical 1050fps, so I'd...

    223/5.56 brass Lapua vs starline

Lapua if you're made of cash, need the best, or aren't losing or tearing it up is my take. I like starline for other applications. Good value where I've used it.

    Lapua/Alpha worth the premium?

Yes lapua is very nice, great stuff. Starline is good too, less good but very good where I've used it! For typical shooting I'd bet starline will do what's needed. It's my go to cheaper pick when possible. I've had no problem shooting sub moa and better with starline in 300blk, .223, .357 mag...

    Question for machinists manufacturing ARs

Good call on the confidence angle of it, can see that for sure.

    6mm arc

I'd probably go 18 or 20 on the length tops unless REALLY craving a few fps and dont feel like getting a bigger rifle out.

    New shorty 308

Nice paint! That barrel fluting is wild too. Very cool.

    Ice Bullet

Currently is like -10f here, so if left outside... probably funny ?

First Big Mike and now Nancy Pelosi isn't attending Trump's Inaguaration Ceremony

That's what I assume too, surely covered as effectively as 150 yard distant wide open dangerously sloped roof tops.

Give it to me straight(Objective too big)

If you're not attached to the scope cap maybe mod that a little? A little file work may do it? Done it on some butler creeks and worked fine, but they are kinda disposable lol. I guess the real question is how's the cheek weld? If your face is smashed down, then new mount looks like the way...

    Subsonic lever gun caliber

4570 works here, BUT you need to be able to run a long bullet for it to work well. Case is just too big for subs unless you run one of the short 4570 variety... do it if you can... I've had good luck hunting with a wide flat nose soft cast bullet on deer. Get a reliable half inch plus a little...

Asked a similar question for gassers but outside of a .22 what’s the most enjoyable caliber to shoot suppressed in a bolt gun?

Lever action .357 with handloads. 160ish grain bullet at 900 fps from a 16 inch barrel is very quiet and whacks targets very nicely. Bolt gun experience is the same with less stetson needed. 44 mag is also fun if you need more bullet, just comes with more noise. 9mm is hard to argue with too...

    Brass Trimmings in Case

Yeah I'd hate to leave some of those long curls you get sometimes in there. Good idea to trim and make gravity do the work

    Which Flame Annealer?

I've messed with an ugly a bit, learned on 5.56 range brass. It seems to work pretty well. A lot of fired 5.56, pull down 50bmg, and old .243 hunting rifle ammo was giving lots of neck splits and was overly hard to work the necks. I assume the brass was not treated gently in the past lol. One...
