    Savage MKII & Ammo Test

Re: Savage MKII & Ammo Test Finding the right ammo is the key to the 22 rimfire. Some guns prefer a certain brands and sometimes speed of such ammo. If you find an ammo that your gun really likes buy up as much of it as you can afford and store it in a cool dry controlled temped place. I...

Which .17 HMR Rifle do you recommend?

Re: Which .17 HMR Rifle do you recommend? I had a 77 ruger but sold it because of the price of the 17 ammo. If you get the ruger you can always buy a 22 magnum barrel and have a switch barrel gun. It takes about 20 minutes to swap the barrel and the 22 mag ommo is about half the price. MHO larryj

    molybdendum powder for lube?

Re: molybdendum powder for lube? I've been using it since 1980 and I can't see a thing the matter with it. I use a little plastic bowl with a few #9 shot in it and just dip the case in it. Be sure and shake the case because sometimes it will act like a cookie cutter. larryj

Which hand prime tool for .338 Lapua?

Re: Which hand prime tool for .338 Lapua? I'm cheap but I use the Lee hand priming tool. Actually I have 2 of them 1 set up for large primers and 1 set up for small primers. I've used the Lee priming tools for over 30 years and have yet to have one not prime a case. JMHO larryj

    Primer pocket cleaning

Re: Primer pocket cleaning I think that it is a personal preference thing. When I load for my rifle I usually clean the pockets everytime just as the benchrest shooters do. The thing is I only load about 50 rounds so it doesn't take long. I also use the primer pocket uniformer on all my brass...

    CZ 452 Style

Re: CZ 452 Style J-Hon, Ther is a fellow over at benchrestcentral.com that is makeing a 2oz trigger for the 452. His name is Butch Lambert. You might go over there and ask him if it has a curver trigger. And I do like the Anschutz triggers myself. I only have one (a 1907) but that is enough...

    tips for cleaning your .22lr

Re: tips for cleaning your .22lr For the bolt gun you need a good bore guide and for the 10/22 you can dolike I did and drill the back of the receiver and cleanit from the muzzle end but it still has to be taken apart. Midway makes a guide that goes over the muzzle end of the 10/22 and push...

    .45 progressive press reccomendation?

Re: .45 progressive press reccomendation? Any of the dillon presses wil do what ever you want to do. This includes the SDB loader. The 550 is not an auto indexing press like the 650 or the 1050. The 550 can be had with a case feeder now days so I would look hard at that model. Over the past...

    dillon case gauge

Re: dillon case gauge I don't think that it will hurt it to size down to that. That guage is to mostly tell you if is sized enough. Meaning if it won't go in that guage it won't chamber in your rifle. larryj

    Reloading Questions

Re: Reloading Questions I realy like the forester benchrest dies and seaters but these are necksizing dies. Some companies make 3 dies set with both full length and necksizing dies along with a seater. The seater die shoud be one with the sliding seater plug. Hornady makes and inexpensive one...

    Cleaning question

Re: Cleaning question I like the bore guide method using a bore guide(lucas guides are the best), jag, patch and a good rod. I use a nylon brush on the chamber and leade area first and then 2 wet patchs, let it set for a few minutes, then dry patch about 3 times. This is done after 1 ARA...
