At Mifflin there's a a lot of range owned steel already placed, I belong and have shot there quite a bit, and have never gone further than 200 yards downrange. Grip Strength?
Reminds me of my Dad, was maybe 5'9", 150 pounds, but the work w hand tools all his life (he was the best plumber in PA), he could crush it, my best friend played football and wrestled heavyweight for Penn State, was a legitimate 500+ pound bench, my Dad could make him beg, was hilarious. Just to clarify- there was no report about gunshots, the shots I mentioned were all during legal shooting hours and numbered maybe 4, and were several ridgelines away, no "blasting" as mentioned by the CO.
