    Remington 700 Bolt Lug marks/scrapes

That bolt lug is galled, minorly. It'd probably be fine to do nothing, but were it mine, I'd carefully stone/hone it to remove the high spots. Where in Florida are you? Buy a tool that allows you to measure the case head to shoulder length of your brass, and adjust your dies for proper sizing...

Where do you guys find info / learn about your customs?

Skip the custom-route until you've owned and operated a rifle for a while. Customs are kinda pointless unless it's customized to/for YOU, and currently you don't know what that is. No offense intended whatsoever! My advise is to buy a quality factory rifle. Accuracy international is blowing...

POLL - Most COMPLETE ballistics app

I've mainly used the free Strelok, and I'm NOT here to say it's the best. But, it's very fast and simple to use. It provides good data, but has the downsides of: Inputted velocity that creates data that matchesobserved dope is NEVER what the chrono says. I always need to enter a velocity...

Will the AI AE platform feed 284 based cartridges?

So the 20-25% increase (~10gr) in case capacity wasn't worth any extra velocity? Weird!

Will the AI AE platform feed 284 based cartridges?

Cool. As long as you're aware of donut/neck tension issues and stay on top of it.

Will the AI AE platform feed 284 based cartridges?

I built a short action 284, and load cartridges at 2.950" COAL. It gives up MAYBE 50fps to a long action. I run 175smk @ ~2825. The little 6mm bullets will "consume" even less capacity. However, it's not capacity that's wrong with stuffing the 284 into a short action, it's brass prep and...

    LR Shooting Arizona Style

I'm a lightweight, I guess...even having lived in Michigan 12 of the last 15 years. It's -16°F right now with 25mph winds, real feel ~-40. This is the coldest/worst I've ever experienced. This Global warming thing is really cramping my style. I can't stay outside more than 4-5 minutes at a time.

    Wildcat resources

Anybody know of a message board or sub forum that is big on talking about wildcatting? I'm not a novice reloader and I've dabbled with some of the basics, such as preparing 22-250 for use in 6xc, prepping 243 brass for SLR, made Creedmoor cases from 308 etc etc, but I'm interested in doing...

Will the AI AE platform feed 284 based cartridges?

I can't see why it wouldn't feed properly, though it may require a little finagling on magazine position. For example, I built a 284 on an FN SPR. I had to fit the magazine release just right so the bolt *wouldn't* catch up on the magazine, but *would* catch on the case head. Obviously, with...

Rifle Scopes Has Premier Reticles fixed their Parallax binding issue?

Me three. Lowlight Could you please elaborate on the symptoms/outwardly apparent manifestation of the PRH parallax binding issue, please? If it were as simple as not being able to focus on anything you want from ~50 yards to infinity, it's really surprising a user wouldn't notice that.

    Help, 243, 6XC, 6X47?????

Love my 6SLR. The shoulder geometry fits AW magazines PERFECTLY. The standard reamer puts the 105 hybrid on the lands @ 2.890", mine shoots best about .020" off. Mine printed a 5-shot group measuring about 1.25" - at 600 yards. That is with unsorted RP brass. I don't know if the 30º shoulder...

Rifle Scopes March Optics Glass Quality

It has nothing to do with price. It's physics. 42mm objective, divided by 24 times magnification = 1.75mm exit pupil 1.75mm is small, meaning your pupil has to be in just the right spot to "catch" the image projection. $3k is a lot to spend, it'd better be quality, and it is. Buying a...

    The head stamp thread

Tulammo is brass? GFL is Fiocci. I've used it a bunch and its good. Mine wasn't "crimped" per se, but it still needed to be swaged to nice take a primer.

    7mm rem mag 1-8.4 barrel

No. Any difference would be so small it'd be undetectable amongst other factors unless you tested 10 barrels of each twist and did a statistical analysis. Use your 8.4 obermeyer and be happy.

    question on dilion 650

If it's TRULY to be used for pistol only, and you seriously won't want to start loading rifle cartridges, consider the square deal b. Really nice little machine that churns out pistol ammo nicely. Deciding between a 550 and 650 for pistol ONLY is hard, because both have a casefeeder. But, the...

    Rifle Scopes March-FX 5x-40x 56mm FFP thoughts

FYI everyone: The 3-24x50 is out, or at least will be very soon, it's even listed on Kelbly's website. A .1mrad/click 10mrad/revolution version of the 5-40x56 is forthcoming. I hope Kelbly's does another March (the month) March (the scope) sale again this year. The_FNG I have the 3-24x42...

    7mm rem mag 1-8.4 barrel

1:9 is really all that's required for those bullets. With an 8.4 twist, there isn't a 7mm bullet made you won't be able to stabilize.

Sidearms & Scatterguns 5.7 for carry?

Hate to be so morbid, but Major Nidal Hassan used a 5.7 pistol in Ft. Hood. If you consider the ratio of killed/wounded, it is very high as compared to other pistol-only attacks (such as James Holmes in Aurora). Obviously shooter skill is a factor as well, but to dismiss the 5.7 as...
