Calling all poors, what is the most poorish shooting sports thing you've ever done?

No shame in cooking up a batch of Mexican Match loads. Good on you! Speaking of reloading, walnut media cost too much, so went to lizard terrarium bedding for walnut media, then found the cheap effectiveness of long grain rice. One of the few poor techniques that works better than what it...

Calling all poors, what is the most poorish shooting sports thing you've ever done?

Look you don't have to rub our poor faces in your pithy attempt at alms. You have pipe insulation on an AI, go be "rich" somewhere else. ;)

Calling all poors, what is the most poorish shooting sports thing you've ever done?

FFS I said poor behavior not unsanitary ones. Reusing discarded/ used ear plugs or cigarette butts are at another level.

First precision 22 - go big or go home?

Even a few years ago, the 700 SA footprint 22lr actions had the advantages of more trigger and chassis/stocks choices. Now, that gap has significantly closed. My recommendation would be to first determine your goal for the build and how it will be used. If you want a trainer for your...

    6mm ARC (Bolt Action)

Same one from the original. Just got an email back from Hornady. Apparently the 105gr Aeromatch uses a different seating stem than the 105gr Match BTPH. Note: I could not find #397113 anywhere, even in Hornady's website, ordered the #397139 designed for the 6mm 110gr A-Tip. I hope that this...

    6mm ARC (Bolt Action)

Please help a relatively new reloader. What's causing bullet deformation in the 6mm Hornady 105gr Aeromatch bullets? A circular deformation about 3/16" from the tip on 5 rounds I loaded, definitely a dent, not a scuff. Non compressed loads, seated easily/smoothly. I use the Hornady 6 Arc full...

    6mm ARC Bolt Gun Loadings

I run a Savage SA with the bolt head swap. Reason explained in this post : https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/calling-all-poors-what-is-the-most-poorish-shooting-sports-thing-youve-ever-done.7228192/ Another thing about the 6 ARC 26” MTU barrel, I can fire 10-12 shots in a row and...

    6mm ARC Bolt Gun Loadings

Already ordered some Alpha 6 ARC brass. Pricy but I found it to be long lasting. Although slightly less capacity than Hornady brass, it seems to need less charge to reach the same velocity. Mainly wanted to test Staball Match to see if I could reach my speed goal of 2835fps. I’ll bump down to...

    6mm ARC Bolt Gun Loadings

*** Disclaimer, the information below works in my rifle and in my set-up. Work up safely and always follow manufacture published load data *** Cold windy day for a ladder but load dev is a must for a spring road trip. 6 ARC, Criterion Barrel 26", MTU contour, 45 rounds through the barrel before...

    CZ457 Dry Firing Idea

The yellow dry wall anchors work well and can be loaded into the magazine to practice positionals (ie: not put pressure on the magazine) and cycling the action (ie: CZs likes to be cycled with some oomph).

    6mm ARC (Bolt Action)

Nice info and great groups. Any crunching with the 28.6 gr (I realize that you have a longer free bore)? Thanks in advance

    6mm ARC (Bolt Action)

Pretty sure Rob's 6 ARC is a 22" Savage barreled action with an upgraded MDT stock/chassis. The other temperature less-sensitive powder I wanted to try is 8202 XBR but can't find any online. 3 shot groups and one 5 shot group from my scope zero and barrel break in. It's showing some potential.

    6mm ARC (Bolt Action)

Thanks for posting. I'm about to go through the same load dev with Staball Match. Any crunch with 29.0 gr of Staball? Any crunch with 28.5 gr of Varget? Curious to see how your barrel breaks in. Guessing that 2825-2835 fps with a 105 gr bullet and Varget is very obtainable. As long as it...

    New CZ 457 24" 1.180 Match Barrel from L3i

I think that there are two generations of KRG Bravos. The first gen accepted up to 1.2” and the newer gen up to 1”. Someone check me on that as i cannot find the old spec sheet on their page. I’ll know soon enough when I try to install a 1.18” in my Gen 1 KRG Bravo. YMMV and happy shooting

    6mm ARC (Bolt Action)

Great info and thanks for sharing. Can't argue with those groups! My barrel came in last week, will have to get it installed and tested soon. 26" criterion from North land shooters supply. Planning to load dev with Staball Match. Cheers

Getting started in rimfire PRS - What rife?

Good recs here. One man's opinion: for reliable mag feeding and Lego like customization, I'd go with the cheapest iron sight CZ457 and get a Modacam barrel and a stock/chassis of your choice. You can go from a 5 lb squirrel gun to a full up NRL22 setup by slapping on a scope, barrel, and...
