    Mountain 50 BMG Rifle Build

There's actually a few videos of this same setup (barrel length, muzzle brake, weight) on YouTube and it doesn't look bad at all (just look up Safety Harbor 50). There's a lot of unburned gases coming out so velocity is considerably less than the 30"+ setups. Of course that makes a huge fireball...

    Mountain 50 BMG Rifle Build

Due to the enormous range that I have available to use, I decided that I "needed" a very long range caliber gun to play with (in addition to my .260 build). I know there's not usually a lot of 50's in this forum but I thought it would fit here since it's a bolt action that I plan on using for...

.260 Remington Build by Southwest Precision - UPDATE: Load Development

I was able to do a little laser ranging with my new Swarovski and came up with the following: Left to right the ranges are: 1295 yards 1172 yards 1364 yards 1505 yards 1610 yards 1784 yards The problem is that the area is not really that accessible so it would be hard to put up...

.260 Remington Build by Southwest Precision - UPDATE: Load Development

Dave, I have the Lapua brass covered. That's what all the Cor-Bon factory rounds are loaded in. So when I've shot all that I'll start reloading. I would be very happy with 2.5" groups at 600 yards!

.260 Remington Build by Southwest Precision - UPDATE: Load Development

I just put in applications for hunting Colorado mule deer, elk, pronghorn, moose, mountain goat and rocky mountain sheep. I don't stand a chance getting the limited licenses for anything but mule deer this year but I'll be purchasing an unlimited license for elk if nothing else. I plan on...

Re: .260 Remington Build by Southwest Precision Just got my bolt back from Paul (boltfluter) at Pro-Precision Rifles. I went with the Vortex fluting and couldn't be happier! The transaction went super smooth and Paul even called me to verify some things to make sure the bolt was finished...

    New build 6.5Cm or 260??

Re: New build 6.5Cm or 260?? I went with 260 because there are a few different match loads from different manufacturers(130 VLDs, 139 Scenar, and soon Federal GMM 142 Sierra) and the 6.5CM only has two (120 or 140 AMAX). Also the 260 has a MUCH wider selection of factory loaded hunting...
