Then your chamber was cut with out the proper leade. Not good-- 2.800 COAL is a std that the factory's use for 168/175 smk bullets. LG

I do see where I added a '0'-SORRY-- Get a Wilson Case Gauge and learn to use it. 4064 is not as temp stable as Varget. Drop to 40.0gn of 4064, and size your cases the the Wilson gauge. LG

    Advice on my load IMR4064

This is after size'n? Can't be .3085 as the bullet is .3080. How are you measuring this dimension? What size(dia)is the neck button in your dies. What brand dies?? You want the neck ID to be about .306 after size'n. WHY 2.750 COAL????????????? Go to 2.800 COAL. Confused-- LG

It also depends on how long he lets the rnd cook in the hot chamber. Last I will say-back off to 42 gn. Confirm case headspace via a case gauge. "0" and calibrate your scale-- LG

    Advice on my load IMR4064

I anneal after every firing. The key word for accuracy, is CONSISTENCY. BORING, CONSISTENCY--- You never answered my question about the amount of neck tension your using. ANY std LR primer you can get, is good for now. I said +/- .01gn. Whats the variance you using now? 4064 is good to go for...

TIR=Run out of the bullet from the center line(C/L)of the bore. Bullet has to be centered and 'tru' in the case, to fly straight. Like I said-Something ain't rite if you have 74 fps E.S. in nine rounds other than low/old batteries in the crono. I also left remarks to this in your second post-- LG

    Question on Dies...New to reloading

I like Redding Comp dies. I've only been reload'n for 45+ years. So what do I know--LOL LG

    Advice on my load IMR4064

zero your scale and use a known ck weight. You have way to much E.S. and need to drop it to 30fps or less. You need to ck each powder chg weight and never depend on a powder measure to throw extruded powder with +/- .01 gn consistency. You also need to be ck'n your bullet runout(TIR). You...

Gunsmithing First Brass Inspection after back from Smith

74 fps spread is not good. You want 30fps or less over a 10 rnd string. You also should be ck'n your bullet run-out(T.I.R.). You want .003 or less. Don't trust a powder measure to meter 4064 with any consistency. Weight ck each charge. LG

    What next for improvment?

Bullet T.I.R.(runout)of less than .002", will remove many 'flyers'. SINCLAIR CONCENTRICITY GAUGE | Sinclair Intl LG
