    MPVO for Tactical Games Thoughts/Recommendations

A long time ago a link to that article was posted here once on SH so I went and read it. Personally I have a hard time believing it to be true because I've had two of these with no problems, as well people around here would be constantly complaining if they were having problems. It's no super...

    MRGG-A (6.5 CM) vs 6 ARC?

I sold my 243 and 308 large frames years ago after buying a 6MMART40. Man that was one precise and soft shooting AR. So much so I won a long range steel night match with it once while using the only semi. It had a 26" barrel sending 105Amax at 2900. A hot load but that's where it shot the best.

Weigh in on my next coyote rifle build

I use these 53's in my AR too. It's a mid load of IMR 4198 at 2914 fps out of a 15"

    Cheapish scopes

Last year I bought a Athlon Helos G2 4-20 which I recommend for the large frame. It's a good combo of the awesome APRS6 reticle, short-ish length, and at mid weight. Definitely the Helos G2 2-12 for the small frame. If I didn't think I might actually appreciate needing 1x at some point this is...

    Shot Show 2025 Rumours

Airguns are getting better and better every year but there are still hurdles to overcome and I think the day will arrive when the 22rf standard velocity will be eclipsed at long range due to the extremely low SD that can be tuned in via controlling aspects of air delivery. Also it's ridiculous...

Precision rimfire state of the Union for 2025, help get me up to speed please…

I tried a bunch of different scopes using that rear 11mm dovetail on my 1827F. It'll work but yes one will need forward extended rings to get somewhat acceptable eye relief. Also possibly buying the Anschutz butt extension rods which I did and that helped. Lastly the heavier and longer the scope...

Precision rimfire state of the Union for 2025, help get me up to speed please…

That's true which is why I had a steel gunsmith pic rail custom made to fit mine.

Precision rimfire state of the Union for 2025, help get me up to speed please…

Once you own a Fortner it's hard to go back to bolt guns and it's also hard to talk oneself into letting go of the old 1827F to help finance the new 1727F. In a fantasy world I'd have 4 or so Fortners built in different ways from a super featherweight carbine to a heavy BR rig. I took my...

    Surefire Smedium frame…6arc and “others”

But how far out can a bullet be loaded to be just short of internal dimension length vs around 2.240 in a regular mag?

    223 rem bullet choice 1-300

I just shoot the 53gr Vmax in my "AR" for inside of 300Y. Supposedly the BC is high for the weight at .290?? They still hang at 1.1" or so at 100Y out of my AR and at 300Y it's easy to hit a kitty cat sized and shaped steel in windy-ish conditions. This is my mixed brass plinking ammo that I use...

FX is not the only show in town!

Nice!!! I might get the U3 version for a UFT match called the FullMonty when it comes out. I've had great luck with AGT products. They are reliable, smooth functioning, and show good precision.

That Helos G2 DMR is great for shooting fast, which is mostly what I enjoy about it, and a major part is the size of the center dot. The illuminated dot isn't daylight bright but you can still see it well on low magnification. It's a pleasantly weird scope that is highly capable in varied...

    Benjamin 317

If you have a really old Benji - Whatever you do don't send it back to the company for repair because they'll confiscate it saying it's dangerous to shoot or some such nonsense. They took my friends gun and gave him a coupon for some value towards a new one.

Is it the quarter or the marble??, JK :p;)

Glass for .22 Squirrels up to 50 Yards?

Seems to be working out for you then. I don't use the HG2 2-12 for groups very much but when I have I'll put the top of the dot touching whatever I'm aiming at, that way I have an exact aim point and the group will land slightly low so I can keep aiming at the same place since it's undamaged by...

    K-Bars Tactical Knives

Then got blue black G10 grips for my Smuggler, mostly so at a quick glance I'll know which knife I'm grabbing out of the dark cabinet since they are all kept in their sheaths. I guess I'm officially a Dawson collector now?!

    K-Bars Tactical Knives

I had ordered this Dawson Steadfast in Magnacut when I got the Smuggler at the store, which came in the end of November. I mentioned it on another thread but neglected to get it here. Because it's shorter I've EDC'd it the most. So nice just grabbing it out of the sheath in my left pocket...

    K-Bars Tactical Knives

Then here's Dawson's Nomad in Magnacut with black and white G10. I got their proprietary Monsoon metal finish on both knives. I'll use it more for EMTB rides and hikes rather than EDC.

    K-Bars Tactical Knives

I liked the first Dawson fixed blade so much I bought more. This one named the Contractor, nice thick .210" CPM Magnacut steel in Monsoon metal finish with Forest Camo G10 grips.

I quit going to LRH, AS, RC, and BC, because they are so boring even though I learned some things there a long time ago. I have to applaud Frank for creating the best gun site there is and putting up with people's constant crap! It's amazing that he can do that. Compliments to the guy for a...
