The Gay Tiger is tempting me from shooting straight with 6BR.

Fun times back then! In my mid 60's now I look back at all the different types of rifle and pistol matches I've tried with a great big smile! It's weird how fun shooting steel is, especially knocking them off a stand, or getting that falling back flat reaction, like in Field Target airgun...

    Rocks

I tried my metal cutting chop saw using a diamond masonry blade and it doesn't work well for harder rock, like that malapai for example (landscaping project), and cutting dry/no water it produces enough heat to turn the cutting area into molten lava so it takes too long. I scrapped that project...

    Rocks

I don't want to throw the $$$$ at the rocks I'd like to get but have acquired a few for the rock garden. This rock garden was already there when we bought the place 15 years ago and was ugly as can be because of the hideous local Malapai rocks stacked up to make a fountain previously so we...

    Air Gun Picture Thread

I posted pics in other threads but neglected this one. My new-ish Skout EVO in 22 cal having the 15.75 twist LW barrel and using Altaros 32.2gr slugs. I have tuned down to 49 fpe/828 fps for a Ultimate Field Target match and in a division called the FullMonty which requires sub 50 fpe. It...

The Gay Tiger is tempting me from shooting straight with 6BR.

How'd you hurt your elbow? I used to use Contenders in 7TCU for Silhouette but if I had to do it over again I'd go for 6mmBR with a 7.5 twist/115's and a bolt pistol, or heck a easy neck up to 25/6mmBR. Fortunately had no wrist or elbow problems.

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

I saw an air disaster video of a plane that crashed "partially" because (there were other factors as well) of a older plane weight formula pilots used to use to calculate the average weight of the amount of passengers they had on it, plus luggage, etc. The FAA had to change that formula to a new...

Rifle Scopes March 5-42 Gen 2 PRS Edition

It's funny how things change over time. I've been out of the Precision rifle games for years but back then more than a decade ago I mostly used holdovers/offs and it was the guys that dialed that would time out, which I rarely did, and I'd do well finishing higher up the roster including a few...

    Stock Market

I agree but it is what it is and I don't see a way out of fighting inflation otherwise. In my case I'm too old to do the physical labor I used to do in my career and I'd rather die than be a walmart greeter or similar. To me increasing ones wealth is like going surfing, like when one wishes to...

    Vudoo closed the doors…

Same here because that's one cool looking rifle if there ever was one. Pretty much embodies my fantasy Fortner from way back a decade ago. If I got one I'd like to have a petite fancy walnut stock made for my 1827F to turn it into a lightweight hunter and put my March shorty DFP 1-10 on it!

    Stock Market

It's been two weeks but XRP hit $2.35 for a few minutes today. As of late lot's of good news about XRP and Ripple, one of which is a 1.25 Billion dollar acquisition of Hidden Road and more XRP ETF approvals. At the dip I had bought Bitcoin, XRP, plus three other Crypto's, and pulled almost...

    Vudoo closed the doors…

I had to have a custom steel scope mount made for my 1827 because the thin factory aluminum mount isn't designed strong enough for a heavy scope, something which would have been nice not to need to do. 1727 is the way to go!

    Vudoo closed the doors…

That's the rifle I'd go with if I were to buy another bolt gun. Too good of a rifle for the price because they run so well. Thanks for the invite. That'd be a fun but also a very looooong trip. Could maybe bring a airgun to shoot Igauna's and do some fishing too to sweeten the deal.

    Vudoo closed the doors…

It's funny because first I bought a Steyr LGB1 Biathlon trainer pcp air rifle for plinking in my yard and liked the concept so much I decided I'd buy a Fortner 1827F 22rf. Fortner actions = It's just one of those things you run across in life that is above everything else you've tried before...

There's not a whole lot of info out yet. Note the gas pedal on the Fortner bolt!!!!!!! https://www.anschuetz-sport.com/en/produkte/1727-apr/1727-apr/#Technische_Daten

If you don't need the trainer aspect of a bolt gun, and can afford it, I suggest looking into the Anschutz 1727F in the new Anschutz chassis system. If I were into NRL22 or PRS22 that's what I'd get and these are super reliable as well.

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR 3 Vs Athlon Cronus

Hadn't heard that. Are you sure they just didn't run out of stock and were waiting until the next shipment?? I've seen this more than a few times over the years with their scopes, some of which are sold out quickly, maybe even before the shipment arrives.

The Gay Tiger is tempting me from shooting straight with 6BR.

6x47L was fine before but 6mmBR has been an easy cartridge to deal with as far as low ES and benchrest precision, and if I need more I go up to 6.5 Saum. The Lapua brass for 6mmBR, the .059 flash hole, short powder column, and long brass life, no case prep, low recoil and .3" groups makes for...

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR 3 Vs Athlon Cronus

You should try that new Ares BTR G3 2.5-15x50 because it's such a killer scope for the price. Compared to the HG2 4-20 it's more refined in just about every way, almost daylight bright illume, and it has better IQ. Also the turrets are even nicer than the ETR's are and maybe better than the CG2...

    Which Heavy Duty Truck?

Thanks! EEK! I've been faithful using Fuel additives so it'll hopefully help. If my Cryto investments go up I'll trade this truck in on a new one in 26 hoping that by now they've made higher quality CP4's. Oh, how much approx OTD is it to have a delete done?

    Which Heavy Duty Truck?

This is my first Diesel truck so I wouldn't know the difference. At 5000 miles or so the HP pressure fuel valve on mine started being unreliable. It pissed me off because after a week of not driving the truck I'd try to start it and it'd only turn over, it wouldn't act like it was going to...
