I had some 308 rounds with the 175 gr SMK stick in the chamber during unfired extraction whereas FGMM with the same bullets did not. It turned out to be a concentricity issue with the HSM ammo. I will not be buying their ammo anymore.
If that were true, then you wouldn't be looking for an action.
Both versions have fairly small serial number ranges. Finding a close serial number available to the public will be the hard part.
Buy your wife a Silhouette Portrait cutter and use it to cut your own patterns out of vinyl. Your wife will be happy and you will have the camo you want.
Leupold Mark AR 3-9x with a Firedot TMR reticle. The fixed parallax has been turned down to 60 yards. Good varmint hunting scope but not so much for precision paper punching.
True internet fashion would be to cover a flier with a dime.
That is a nice setup you have there. I like an AR that can shoot well with all sorts of factory ammo. Have you tried some XM193 or 855 yet?
I can't speak to the three scopes you have listed, but I can tell you that the first thing I noticed with the S&B 1-8 is the small exit pupil at 8x. The red dot is nice and bright and the glass is typical of S&B.
I ended up using an objective size 20 for the eye piece. That would be the equivalent of a eye piece size 18. The other end uses an objective size 40.
I am assuming that this is for your M40A3. If so, Butler Creek caps would be more "correct" since they are actually used in the field. I have...
The rifle that spurred the question in my mind is an SR-25 with a set of KAC micro BUIS's. I am considering scopes with 34mm tubes and the options for QD mounts in 34mm is relatively limited. I might give the ARMS 34mm QD rings a try.
