Re: 1500yd .308 hits
GCM, welcome to the 'Hide!
Branden, the Sierra 175 is known to remain stable past the transonic stage in many barrels, I suggest you try them. The 168 was just not designed for anything past short-range competitions.
Re: Range finder to match the 50 BMG or 338LM
If you are talking the need to have "combat" ranging ability (you are not going to try to hunt at 1500+, right?), then yeah, you'll have to spend a lot.
However, if all you are doing is target practice, where you will go out to the target first...

Re: Observing Trace Beyond 1000yds?
20x or so is fine, the most difficult thing about it is the fact that the bullet is changing elevation so fast. If you try to use magnification that is too high, with too narrow a field of view, you may not see it as you will not be able to pick up the...
Re: Mark Larue has thrown down the guantlet
I have to say this is pretty funny. I'd participate except that I own zero ARMS hardware - one look at the rings years ago was enough to keep me away. On the other hand, I always found the LaRue products I've had to be up to par in fit and finish...
Re: NorCal TBRC 2010 May 29th & 30th. Reg Opens Dec 5
Vu, sorry I can't make it this year man - just too many things going on right now. The first years were awesome, and I fully expect this one to be even better for the participants!
Good luck guys, I'll miss shootin' with you!

Re: Offhand at 500 yards
I am a fan of offhand as well, but not a fan of straight-jackets, oversized gloves, and other non-field aids.
Our club here has a handicap rule for our vintage military rifle silhouette game that requires those scoring over 20 to shoot a bank offhand in the following...
Re: Sin City Precision Rifle Challenge RESULTS
Kurt, looks awesome man! Really sorry I missed it. Hoping next year I'll be able to show.
Still waiting on the AAR from Chuck.

Re: Barnes 800 solid BR or 750 AMAX?
The Bore Rider design pretty much requires the lands to be cut to fit, that's the whole point. I use the Harlow/AAA 765's.
