    Sniper’s Hide Cup Shc 2015.

All of these issues were certainly visible to me at the 2013 Cup. That said, the structure was able to minimize the "gaming" to a certain extent. There are always points to be picked up when shooting with a team, especially if the teams spread members over different squads. There is probably no...

Rifle Scopes New Steiner T5Xi Tactical Rifle Scopes

So.....one of the big makers decided to finally fill the most obvious and useful niche in the scope market. FFP, 25x, zero-stop, excellent reticle, low-pro turrets, moderate weight. Nothing with new outlandish technology, just the correct feature set. Nightforce, if you are listening, this is...

Sniper’s Hide Cup Cup 2014 is there a thread?

Driving. Have not talked with Skit yet, but we were planning on carpooling. I won't be surprised if more people from Reno want to go.

Sniper’s Hide Cup Cup 2014 is there a thread?

Those are decent reasons, changing the CoF substantially will make it interesting. It definitely sounded like the 2012 event was verrrry similar to the 2013 event from the comments, so was sort of expecting the same just flatter. Maybe I'm just spoiled with basin and range topography out here...

Sniper’s Hide Cup Cup 2014 is there a thread?

I understand the logistics convenience thing, but the complex terrain and vegetation at Douglas was really fun. I think "mountain" topography (yeah, Douglas is really a bunch of hills) makes for a more interesting match by far than shooting on flats. If the area is like the photos above, then...

    Gunsmithing new build, 243 or 6.5 or 6mm ?

115 with H4831SC velocity to fit the models is 2975-3000ish, chronographs show much the same. 25-inch barrel. Was hoping for more originally, but it hits what I point it at and is fun. I'll take the stability of the load over higher velocity.

    Gunsmithing new build, 243 or 6.5 or 6mm ?

Sure. I have the medium SLR chamber and a 700 action. I load to mag length with 115 DTACs which is some distance (like 0.020") off the lands, and puts the boat-tail junction right at the neck junction. I use Winchester brass sorted for weight and annealed after the first firing. Fed 210M...

    Gunsmithing new build, 243 or 6.5 or 6mm ?

I built a 6mm SLR for this reason. Uses cheap Winchester .243 brass, and I like it a lot.

Sniper’s Hide Cup 2013 Sniper's Hide Cup AAR

Jimmy, just have to say again how much I enjoyed shooting A1. I was there early on the last day, so you had your routine down, but also you weren't showing any boredom or repetition fatigue. That's pretty amazing. Yeah, it was a game, and I don't like timer games that don't emphasize hits to...

Sniper’s Hide Cup 2013 Sniper's Hide Cup Sponsor List

Reply with quote, aye. Special thanks from me to Bartlein, Steiner, Big Dog Steel, Optics Planet, TIS, TNVC, Impact Data Books and Triad Tactical. The swag bag with the shirts and "go-bag" were particularly cool, I used some of the kit in the match, actually. Great idea whoever came up with...

    Sniper’s Hide Cup Official 2013 Sniper's Hide Cup 5/23 - 5/25

Yeah, that was me. I didn't feel that the top feed was a serious handicap at all on most of the stages. There were some where having a detach would have bought about 15-20 seconds total, which is enough for an extra shot or two, but as someone once told me "you can't miss fast enough to win!"...

Range Report Range report/video: 6mm SLR vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

This. A 1:9 would be seriously handicapping in the wind past 500 or so. Pretty much everything that applies to a .243 applies to the 6SLR. Glad you guys are liking the video.

6SLR vs 260? or stop being a bitch and get both?

You don't have to fireform at all. The case prep is no different than any other regular cartridge - you can sort, turn, cull, anneal, uniform and otherwise prepare your brass to the extent that your accuracy needs require. You have to do this with any cartridge. The ease of finding an accurate...

Range Report Just bought Litz's books

Science IS observation. It has been widely observed that certain bullets (we'll use the 168 SMK as an example) tumble at early transonic ranges in a wide variety of platforms. It has also been observed that other bullets (let's use the 175 SMK as an example) do not tumble at transonic ranges in...

    Member Link Up reno members?

Yeah, there are a few of us around, but we rarely check into this part of the forum. We do organized long range shoots as part of the Palomino Valley Gun Club, I run the Short and Long Range Varmint Silhouette matches. I keep info on that up to date here...
