Good write up man. I don't shoot 3 gun, or even own an AR yet, but I like that scope. I think that it definitely looks like a solid optic for sure. I love supporting US companies like USO!
I ran into this recently when mounting a Vortex PST for a buddy on his Rem 700. The windage was so far off, it wasn't fixable. We swapped the rail, remounted the scope, and right off the bat, it was perfect.
I like my Berger 140 hybrids. They are pretty consistent. I will have to see about sorting by base to ogive measurement.
I did get some of the JLK's in, and they are probably the nicest and most uniform meplats that I have seen.
Bolt guns have less moving parts, which makes them inherently more accurate. They also are easier to maintain, and care for in some adverse conditions.
After initial break in, I generally shoot several hundred rounds between bore cleanings. It could be 300-500 rounds. After I clean, it takes a good 20 rounds for the gun to really settle in again.
Is that fund for Marine vets only? I would like to know more.
I have met several of our wounded warriors out at rifle matches, and those guys deserve every ounce of respect and appreciation as our grandfathers who kicked ass for world freedom back in WWII.
A full MOA target at that distance with your wind call would be challenging enough. I am not used to seeing sub MOA targets at much closer ranges either.
That is truly dissapointing. Our vets who put their bacon on the line and came back injured because of their valor deserve much more than 1/3 of the money that gets donated to a cause that supposedly supports them.
Do any of you guys know any honorable orginizations who really do their part to...
Yep. About a month and a half sounds right. It definitely sucks to have to wait, but PV is always comes through in the end. And they don't charge you till it ships. I do wonder why they haven't begun to catch up since all these ammo and gun shenanigans started.
That's some really good info on Phoenix custom rifles. I am looking to move to AZ in the next couple of years, and knowing there's a quality place to to work on my rifle is very comforting. Thanks for the referral.
I would say the gap is the choice then. The gen 2 xr is the best reticle that they currently offer, but I understand if you can't get it on the st10. Too bad USO doesn't still offer the Caprc reticle. That one was the ultimate in my opinion.
That sucks big time. I'm glad that most gun companies are responsible enough not to put out crap like that. Vulcan should be accountable for the bill on this one.
