If you want flat you can run it with no "butt pad" like a man... Really if you have the tools I would think you could use any recoil pad you want.

    Savage .308 5R 20 FCP Help

Not sure I would put a flash hider on a rifle such as yours. Also muzzle brakes do not increase sound, they simply redirect the gasses to the side or rearward. This makes the shooters perception of noise and concussion seem louder. My advice would be to skip both and purchase a sound suppressor.

Photos Trying My Hand @ Photography

Well, I have always enjoyed "trying" to take nice photos of my hobbies ever since my first car. Now I finally have a decent quality camera and thought I would try it with firearms. Let me know what you think! Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RecoilPhotographyOKC or Flickr...

A little advice here. What would you do?

I have yet to hear of a large amount of complaints with the SWFA SS 16x in the glass department. With that said, the scope I run on my competition rifle only dials as high as 16x. My scope is a little lacking in the glass department, but I am quite capable of seeing my hits on and off target and...

Savage 10TR .308 - What is this thing?

Either way I would not pay that amount of money for either rifle. Picked up a few 10TR models for $350, and my LGS carries the FCP-K for $744. I am all for supporting local shops, but not when they decide to have such a high markup. Both rifles are gtg, get whichever one you can find the better...

    5r barrel questions.

My TR has shot exactly the same since my first outing with it. I doubt you will see any change in your rifle as well.

    recoil of 308

Then I think it would be wise to look into reduced loads or pick up a new rifle in .223.

Are you calling me a midget!?!?!? The tactical butt stock has a while lot more adjustment in the shoulder piece is all.

    Chop 1:12 twist 308???

Had my 26" rem cut to 18 and it shot 175 smk to 800m just fine. If the farthest you will ever shoot is 600 and not in competitions I wpuld go 16.5"

    Federal Lightning

It shoots pretty much the same as CCI Mini Mags for me at 50y. They do not seem to perform well after that in my rifle. I also do not shoot Mini Mags either. None the less it is very good ammunition to use for practice or plinking.

    recoil of 308

That is why you don't go that extreme.

    recoil of 308

I will just add this because I like to post odd stuff. If you load up something like a 208Amax or larger with some trailboss you will have less recoil. But in general because what I listed is for specific uses, the heavier the projectile the more felt recoil you may have depending on your load.

    XLR Chassis Stock

I do not feel it is an upgrade, but more of a downgrade from the "Tactical buttstock". It does weigh less, but at the expense of the recoil pads adjustment range. Kyle pretty much just removed one of the spacers between the stock and the pad. There is still adjustment, but not near as much.

    XLR Chassis Stock

I believe it is the stock that comes on the Carbon chassis. Cuts a little weight, I believe he said 4oz? Just curious but does anyone know if the Carbon chassis is taking on the new magazine well that was shown by previous posters?
